I know I am definitely showing my age here  but I just read that Robert Persig's Honda 305 Superhawk is going to be in the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C.  Robert Persig wrote Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance  and it was not really about motorcycle maintenance.  It was one of those books that you were kind of expected to read if you went to college in those days.  I didn't read it until about 10-12 years ago.  It is  definitely not a easy read.  One of the people who commented about this article said he started and stopped reading this book a few times and didn't finish it. You really have to stick with it. I guess it is about relationships and quality to put it in a nutshell.

The book sold 5 Million copies and has been translated into 27 languages.

Anyway his bike and some of his other personal items are going to be in the Smithsonian and I think that is pretty doggone neat.
