Moving Oberon Clutch Slave from one Monster to another- New copper washers?
«

I'm moving an Oberon Clutch Slave from one Ducati to another and am wondering if I need new copper washers or if I can reuse the ones installed. Anyone try this or know? If I do not sure if I can get just the washers from Oberon or if I need to find them elsewhere.

You could re-anneal the washer, heat it with a blowtorch or similar until hot and let cool. I have reused copper washers without re-annealing and they have resealed without a problem.

I’ve flipped them over to change the sealing contact area in times where replacements weren’t available.
I’ve heated and let cool also.

Copper is a bit of an odd material.
Heating 'til red hot and dropping into water will bring it back to full soft.

My Haynes or Climer manual for my old Bonneville showed this annealing process back in the day. Still do it in a pinch.

They can probably be found for less, but at 35 cents each, I just buy a handful from Spiegler to have on hand:
