All the Ducati's made the 1290SDR possible!

« on: July 24, 2008, 10:11:33 PM »

OK guys, the 999 is back. That's the good news. The bad news is that I have to try to sell it. You  have seen it and know what it's got in it. I've been running some figures in my head and know full well that I'll never see the value of all the mods let alone what it cost in maintenance and repairs. That said what do you think I should ask for it? I know what I think is reasonable and I have a bottom line at which I'll just keep the thing for a while longer.

What do you guys think? $$$$$

I was thinking about something more immediate and liquidable (although that's pretty liquid).  It's a 2003 model w/ 5600 miles. $11,500.?

Seems doable, just depends on what the buyer's market for a Ducati SBK is like at the moment.  There were quite a few for sale on CL not too long ago.  Might not hurt to do a little spying and see if those bikes are still around.  Wink

So is it set up with the ecu (dp) that you had, or did it go back to stock?

That would be revamped red key, new dashboard (hey! my bike only has 7 miles on it!), new DP ECU and reset throttle bodies. Plus I installed a brand spanking new battery in it too. Wait 'til you see the CL ad for the whole list of stuff done to this bike. The buyer will have to be crazy to get it and crazy not to get it if you know what I mean.

Make sure you post up a link when / if you put the ad together.  My wife just yesterday told me I was holding on to the Monster for at least another 3 years, so I think I'm out.

Oh, right.  I was thinking $10k+, but I didn't know how +.  I am not appalled by your figure.

Silly rabbit, the add has been up for a while...

Tell her to hush up, get back in the kitchen and make a pot pie!!

Welcome back Tristan!! --- I know about the wife part. Mine says keep just one motorbike. So it's either just stay with the Monster after the T9 goes or then the Monster goes if I get another bike. Decisions, decisions.  bang head
