Pistal (this is the third pair since the first engine build at about 50,000km)

No tuning to increase power, but a little here and there to maintain smooth running.

Hmm... and a medium make the beast with two backs.
The new starter died. Couple of days ago a new starter sound developed. Slow flowing noise before it ran. Two instead of a half second. Yesterday no movement. Roll start easy. Got a used starter from my dealer. No threads in one of three holes. I'll get another.

Then a question.

What do think about this stator?

It ends a ride with 13.6 volts. Yesterday my return to home
 ride ended with 12.8 The only unusal thing, besides what you see, was the starter diagnosis.

I've seen the discolouration of the windings before. Sometimes it's just about where the oil level sits in the case and sometimes it indicates burned windings with a loss of voltage output. I keep spare regulators for testing and check voltage output at various rpm. Of course the battery to regulator to alternator wiring is worth checking.
Anyway you know all this and I wish I could do some of the work you do.  chug

So, after a few months with an annoying oil leak AND worrying that two out of three working starter bolts isn't enough to hold the starter for very long - time for repairs.

I wanted Time Sert but no shop wanted to do that. Expensive and not required.... Ok, the side cover bolts are just 13 Nm, so ok ok. Helicoil. Testing all holes resulted in six helicoil repairs. No oil leak.

The DMF experts helped a lot when my stator concerns were adressed (link to specific thread just a few post above). The new stator now looks exactly like the one I didn't like the look of in that thread. It works very well, so maybe it's not damaged.

I've had a few experiences with parts lasting much longer than expected. Or longer than the internet said they would.

200,000 km RR Cool

OEM stearing head ball bearings as long lived as All Balls Tapered needle bearings. "Measured" twice.

Throttle wire ok.


Changing from 15T to 14T front sprocket will destroy the chain slider protective shoe in short time, "they" said. Almost all of my 250,000 km with a 14T. The ridge that the rollers roll on is reduced, but still there. The shoulders that the side plates are guided by, are only partially destroyed. Replaced anyway waytogo
