Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

Great meeting a few more of you on Sunday.  Thanks Clifton for organizing.  Excellent pics from all who posted, but as the least photogenic of the group, I don't know how I turned up in so many.

Howie, be careful about getting a GPS.  You'll get too used to it and when it doesn't work right you'll get annoyed.  If you have to RMA it, you may wind up relying on a GfPS who is very slow on the google maps and very mouthy.  When you're trying to get to breakfast, that's a bad thing.

Followed the ride for a few miles but broke off to do my own thing for the rest of the day.  Though I may have stayed dry, you can take consolation in the following:

1. Last August I was stuck in a terrible storm and had to stop at that exact same gas station to buy plastic bags.  The clerks were amused by me packing all my immediate possessions (including pockets, tank bag, and full backpack) into plastic bags.  I think they were less amused by wet footprints and puddles all over the store.

2. The odds were against you.  I spent some time in Binghamton and it has terrible weather.  According to the Farmer's Almanac, it is top 10 for both rainiest and cloudiest (http://www.farmersalmanac.com/weather_chatter/2006/10/06/the-10-worst-weather-cities/).  Guess where that weather heads next.

3. You had a chance to purchase Bee Caps at the Roscoe Diner, which apparently make you immune to the wetting effect of water among other miracles.  Unless they've finally banned them.

Is that pic of Jake on 30?

No, it's taken from my POV from under the overpass mentioned a few pictures up.  The overpass is actually Route 17 and the exit is Fishs Eddy.  About 20 miles or so west of Roscoe.
