"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

This one has 21/18 inch wheels, so more serious about dirt. It's a liquid cooled four valver too, not the 1100.

Whaddya mean "more" serious??   laughingdp   No Multi has any serious dirt credentials.....  laughingdp

This new jigger actually looks like it could handle some serious rough stuff...... in a KTM 990 Adv kinda way...  all way too big beasts for this little black duck to venture off road with  Grin.

Yes I do. Some Multistrada now have 19" front wheels, so semi serious, but 21/18 is full on.

21/18 is full on prime dirt spec, agreed  waytogo

I still maintain all Multis (even the ones with spokes and a 19" front) are ADV/dirty wannabes.  Fab touring machines though.

I found my modded DR650 (21/18) too big and heavy for any serious dirt riding - but that probably says more about me than the bike.

Not sure how close the new bike is to the concepts.

I have to laugh... all those slick photos of that thing roosting through the sand.  I've had my XR650 in sand like that, the rear tire turns itself into a track hoe, and my arms pump up like Popeye.

This one is about 50 lbs lighter than a Multi.  Still too heavy.

Wonder if you can get aux tank for both sides

I think I've seen a rear aux tank option.  Probably in the catalogue.
