What did they do...wrong?
Just badly done..... excessive orange peel in some areas (too much powder?) inadequate coverage in other parts of the same item, so much so that you can see the underlying aluminium.  The little "tick" of missing coverage - yeah I know I'm picky - where they've had the parts hanging by a wire.   If I was rebuilding a Soviet tractor the quality of the work would be truly authentic  :-\

Looks a lot more complex than the ones I work on (V50 and SP1000). They have about three wires spanning them. [laugh]
I do like the Griso and Centauro, and the 1100 Sport.

Any more progress and pictures?
Nag... nag.... nag....   ;D

Mate, there hasn't been much progress.  Certainly none that's photogenic.  Drive shaft spines greased and reassembled. The swing arm is back on after having had it's bearings inspected and re-greased.  The rest of the back end won't go back together until the rear shock shows up and Powder Coating The Second Attempt is ready.

So the second go around with my powder coated parts worked out.  They did good (why they couldn't do good the first time without me having to ...um.... explain how it's going to be...  beats me).  Shock showed up too.  So out with the original Sachs and in with a new Matris...

Airbox back in, new breather tubing to replace the yellowed, cracked and brittle originals.  Fuel tank reinstalled (what a PITA).

Exhaust all cleaned up, shiny and refitted.  Put some juice in the tank... turn the key...  bugger all happens  :-\.  Turns out the galah who refitted the speedo/instument panel didn't have the loom plug properly seated did I.  Sort that, hit the button and we have life  :).  New headlight works as intended as does the super bright Motogadget barend turn signals.  And the Denali air horn wakes the dead.

Just need to do something with the shabby looking wheels (built by Alpine I think, tubeless spokes with 36 optimistic little rubber grommets all hoping to keep the air in).  Bloody silly idea if you ask me.

Yup from that mob in QLD.  Considering the only raw materials they have up there is banana skins and crushed XXXX cans, it's a really nicely made bit of gear.

Too early to say - I'll let you know in a couple of weeks when my riding season - stop laughing  [cheeky] - starts for the year.
