These are not oem CV desmodue carbs. They are Honda VFR 750 Keihin CV carbs which unlike the CV carbs fitted to desmodues, are built up to a standard and not down to a price.

See anything different about the air jets compared to the  carbs on your Monster?

Although I'm not a fan of the oem CV carbs I recently got a good result doing the above intake mods to one of these.

I was also working on a 94 VFR750 which needed some serious carb work having sat with stale fuel for seven years. I got to comparing both bikes CV carbs and the relative levels of sophistication in each carbs design.

A hint.
Those familiar with older Harleys might remember that there was a mod to the popular S&S carbs where an extra, adjustable air jet was added to more accurately meter fuel over the rev range and tune out any excessive overlapping of jets. This gave some refinement to the S&S carb and reduced the need for compromise settings.
