I've got a 95 Monster 900 that I have retro fitted a 93ss instrument cluster to, so I can have a tach.  Now the speedo reads almost double my speed.  Is there a drive replacement  or a gear change available?  The ratio now is 2.75 cable revaluations to 1 tire revaluation.  Thanks

The speedo drives are specific to the model so Monster and Supersport drives are different. While they fit common wheels and axles the drives match the brand of speedo. Monster has a CEV speedo and Supersport has one by Veglia Borletti. Ratios as you've found are significantly different. So its your dealer or ebay for an SS drive for your 20mm axle size. Dont go for one earlier than 94 to be sure as the axle size (at the bearing ID) in the SS transitioned from 17 to 20mm in 93ish.

I'm working around these issues doing a wheel swap across models and years. If you find a good supplier let me know!
