Entirely shot on Fuji X-T4, HAND HELD.

Cheap vintage lenses are A LOT OF FUN.

Everything in this video was shot on Fuji X-T4, with Canon FD50mm f1.4 lens + Metabone Speed Booster.

I shot this with film simulation by Youtuber Vuhlandes.

(And color graded with film emulation “Kodak Ektachrome 64”.)

I also had DIY diffusion filter (clear UV filter + hair spray), and NISI VND filter on.

If you look at the original, you can tell the camera actually moves, perhaps on dolly, then stops.
I’m a solo shooter, on a really tight budget.
The camera is on the tripod.
There’s no way I can move the camera while I’m acting front of the camera.
So, I moved, turned around, instead.

I picked up this speed booster (off eBay) just recently, and have been playing with it a lot.
This is “FD to Fuji-X mount” version, so it’s not as expensive as “EF to Fuji-X” version, but still quite a bit of money.

Is it worth the price?
Yes, I think so.
Look at the image at 1:20.

Just wanted to share the idea of how to fit a camera with top handle & microphone mounted on top.

(Shot entirely on Sony ZV1)

I would have missed turkeys coming out from the bush, if I had a bag set up like I used to.

This one showed up while I was watching another video on YT, in my lunch break, so I stopped that video and watched this.
I REALLY enjoyed it.

[Pro Sushi Chef mini documentary] Answering viewer’s question / EDC stuff

This is a video response to a viewer’s question.
A question asked by Daniel C.
“What kind of folders and utility knife do I use at work?”

Sorry about the intro, if you’re not into that kind of stuff.
(That was a mixture of 1967 French neo-noir crime thriller film by Jean-Pierre Melville “Le Samouai” (one of the Alain Delon’s best) and 1995 Michael Mann film “HEAT”.)

I’m thinking to do some documentary style interview video in the next month.
This is a sort of lighting , composition, and audio gear practice.

[Pro Sushi Chef mini video essay#2]
Restaurant closing… (and what pandemic has left us)

Everything has a beginning and an end. Life is just a cycle of starts and stops.
There are ends we don’t desire but are inevitable.

Do you know where did this line come from?
I’ll tell you at the end of this video.

So, the restaurant that I’ve been working for all these years will close, at the end of March.

Restaurant closed, life goes on, keep fighting [Pro Sushi Chef out of work short movie]

1995 movie “Se7evn” ends with Earnest Hemingway’s quote, told by Morgan Freeman as detective Lt. Willman Somerset.
-Earnest Hemingway once wrote, “The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.” I agree with the second part.-

For some reason, I felt like this quote is utterly proper, for this video.

Restaurant is permanently closed.
Not only I no longer have a job, but also I have lost a space to store all my sharpening equipment, filming equipment, a place to shoot video … and, perhaps most importantly, a place to meet people.

Still, I keep going, keep fighting. Those who didn’t know our closure will probably be surprised a little bit, when they come to the place next time.
But, they will find me, eventurally. (That’s been the case, in the last 30 years or so.)

There are NO firearms in this video!

How NOT to kick tail cowl while mounting on Ducati Monster S4R [Short Ducati Monster film for short riders]

NOT a riding technique tutorial video! More of a “stylized, experimental short film with romanticized “Born too late outlaw gunslinger back in the saddle” type of vibe.

Vespa’s dirty little secret

While I was eating today’s late lunch at the garage, there was a Vespa with the seat open (for charging battery). Then, I came up with the idea.
Very quickly shot with Fuji X100V (that’s all I had).

Yanagiba [experimental short film]

Okay, so DON’T take this story seriously.
It’s 90% fiction.
I just wanted to do nonlinear narrative storytelling.

The entire scene was shot this morning, all by myself, while making my breakfast.
I was originally thinking to make my regular style video, but showing cooking footage on
Youtube is done so many times, and quite frankly, pretty boring.

So, I went to totally different direction.
Turned it into experimental short film.

How to do “Tilt-UP” shot while filming yourself, alone (NO gimbal, NO Helper)

[Disclaimer] There are NO firearms in this video!
This is how I shoot “tilt-up” shot, while filming myself, all by myself.
No gimbal required. Just need some imagination and creativity.

For the record, the scene was shot on Fuji XT-4 with Canon FD50mm f1.4 lens + Metabones speed booster.
BTS camera is GoPro Hero 10 + Polar Pro ND filter, ND 32 (which is a 5-stop filter)

Microphone is RODE video NTG, connected to TASCAM DR-10L Pro.
(On camera mic for scratch audio is Sennhizer MKE400.

This was shot for the opening of my main channel video.

[inspiration of the opening]
