Whereas I'm more in this camp: Hiss, scratch. Turn the bloody thing over every 15 minutes. The only good thing about vinyl is the packaging, which is much more rewarding than anything since. But sound quality, you're all dreaming.
If you are talking about pop and affordable vinyl absolutely! High end vinyl, like Deutsche Grammophon where an album could easily cost 100+ Euros, no comparison. Ironically pointless to me because I am not willing to shell out that kind of money for records or turntables.
