Definitely the lineup is a tad tubby, it is amazing how heavy they made them, but hey, looks like one could shed at least 100lbs off by swapping out the mofugly exhaust...  looks-wise, I have liked the Indians way better than Harleys in years past, but yeah, they have been deteriorating in that dept...  i still find them oddly attractive tho... I guess i am getting easier to please these days

If you watched the AMA Super Hooligan series this season you’ll know who these guys are.

Like the look of them (FTR). Look more purposeful than the latest Sportster. Thats what HD should've built to get back to the flat track roots.

I don't like over weight bikes. I moved from Harleys to Ducatis in the 90's. Club racing really reinforced my dislike of excess weight on motorcycles. The massive adventure/enduro bikes nowadays are oxymoronic in execution imo.
I like the overall style of the FTR, it doesn't have a heavy looking style like the new Sportster. I think Indian successfully stole HD's thunder there. I want to see HD build a sub 450 lb XR1200 street bike, but then that's pretty much the M1200. I chose the 1100Evo as I put light weight and simplicity before max hp. With a few mods the 1100Evo is sub 375lb.

Doing some work on a Victory 106 Highball . Very impressed with the compact 1731cc sohc 4 valve motor, Brembo style brakes and monoshock rear end.
It's getting a PCV and dyno tuning next Evil. I guess Victory are now Indian.

Victory managed reasonable sales but in 2011 the parent company purchased the rights to the Indian Motorcycle name. Unlike Victory, which was a completely new name, Indian was one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the world. It marked a turning point in Polaris' strategy.

Yeah, I guess you can't beat a brand name like that if you want to take on HD. A history of style, innovation and racing success.
Like Ford vs Holden here for the Supercars.

I was very impressed with the motor layout and what they did for performance. That would have to be the most compact 1731cc V twin around.
