Pol had a monster highside and hit the tire wall hard after cartwheeling through the gravel.

He's in the hospital for tests due to  lung contusions and spinal injuries. He can move, so he isn't paralyzed.

Big hits for sure getting slammed by the bike. A good vote for quality gear. "Neurologically safe" was the phrase used which was good to hear.

MM out there winning hearts & minds. Dumbass! My boy was able to bring it home 2nd most likely because of that incident. Pecco is the man!

Just when I thought he matured. Maybe the sprint format unleashed that old monster. It kind of encourages that mindset. A lot of injured riders.

I can’t believe he did that!  That was such a desperate rookie move.  If his bike isn’t as competitive as the others, we’re probably going to see more desperate moves from him this year?

So, the sprint race is exciting, but how many original riders do you think we'll have left on track for the race in Austin? Espargaro is out indefinitely, Oliveira is an unknown, as well. The Beast has a broken scapula, and Marquez had hand surgery.

If Ducati doesn't replace the Beast in Argentina, there will only be 18 bikes on the grid. It seems like this new format might not be sustainable.

Maybe the sport will gain by finally having subs. Silly season all year long.

I agree it's unsustainable.
It was a way of extracting more revenue yielding entertainment from the workers. I say workers because the crews are stretched to the limit (as if they weren't already). I feel for the crews as i imagine their money is pitiful in the scheme of things. The riders were proved correct in their prediction of more injuries.
The short race is exciting and I'm sure riders like Jack wish there were two 12 lap races and tyre management be damned. That said the full race was exciting and it shows that managing the rules sets the environment for close racing.
