Hi, I'm having (I think) ignition failure at 6000 - 8000 rpm... always in this zone.

Here's a photo from the dyno:

Does anyone ever seen such a thing? And more important does anyone knows the fix?

Ducati Monster 1100s from 2009
SC Project CR-T slip-ons
exhaust valve removed
Lambda sensors removed
Lithium battery
DP Performance ECU with rexxer reflash
PC 5 with 2 maps switch
K&N stage 3 filters (airbox removed)

I'm sorry that I can't offer you any constructive help.

I would like to see a pic of your removed airbox K&N set up though....

Mods sound great. Ungeheur and I have bikes in a similar state of tune.

Any historical background to the problem? How long? Any mods preceding the issue? Age of ignition components? Any old school diagnosis? Eg in line spark sensors. Has a tech used Ducati diag tools to read any errors? Does the dyno operator, in their experience, see the graph as consistent with spark breakdown or tps issue? Dyno operator happy with the AFRs?

If the AFRs are good then I would check the basic stuff like plugs and plug wires/ leads, coils and wires. If there are components over ten years old then a refresh is justifiable.

A few left field notes.
Some PCV's needed a firmware upgrade due to a run of devices having an issue.
Some maps have areas that need adjustment due to glitches in a few tables that were missed. They may require ignition fine tuning if those dips are due to pinging.
I've seen base maps with typos!
Injector breakdown should show up on the AFR graph (with a slight delay).
Does the dyno software have the capacity to show ignition timing in real time?

"Mods sound great." Ty

"How long? Any mods preceding the issue?" Pretty sure since I installed the PC5 switch... But I don't think it's related.

"Age of ignition components? Any old school diagnosis? Eg in line spark sensors. " Spark plugs are fresh, but other than that it's all from 2009.

"Has a tech used Ducati diag tools to read any errors?" I'm trying the DIY problem solving...

"Does the dyno operator, in their experience, see the graph as consistent with spark breakdown or tps issue? Dyno operator happy with the AFRs?" Dyno guy suspects coil issue... and he's pretty happy with the AFRs.

"check the basic stuff like plugs and plug wires/ leads, coils and wires. If there are components over ten years old then a refresh is justifiable." Ok!

"Some PCV's needed a firmware upgrade due to a run of devices having an issue. " That's what I'm starting with.

"Does the dyno software have the capacity to show ignition timing in real time?" didn't get that far.

Um... I won't be doing that.  I am curious to see how you arrived at your airboxless setup.

But not THAT interested.

Very nice.  Serious oxygen there.
So performance coils and leads may or may not solve the issue so if you commit to buying high performance components, it is at least an upgrade. Grin The state of the wiring to those components is worth checking.
I think the Ducati diag service tool would confirm the issue and having that done is worthwhile.

Yes... trying to sort this, found someone that had the same problem, fixed with firmware update of the PCV, but I'm having problems with that too.

Wanted to buy new cables but can't find anything in Portugal, and the cost of importing... is... well painful.

A Dynojet kitted dyno workshop can download that revised firmware. I can't remember if I did it myself with the revised firmware sent by a helpful Dynojet dealer or visited them. An up to date Dynojet operator will often be aware of these issues and preload the updates before the dyno session. The three or four guys I consult are genuinely helpful. Might pay to ring around and one may sell you a cable and send the updates. Some of the updates are on the Powercommander site ( which I'm guessing you accessed). Maybe give Doug Lofgren in the US an email or a call. There must be UK dealers that could help.

oh I 've the USB cable, my problem is to find at a good price in Portugal the coil cables.

Yep I downloaded the firmware update from the dynojet site, but when I upload it gives an error "error Loading File". I already send a couple of emails to dynojet support... but they're not helping...
