Do connecting rods come in different weight classes? I need a replacement for mine, and mine has a light green (almost off white) paint strip at the base. I did find some used ones on eBay that I could use but can't find any paint on the base of those. Do you guys know if these in fact come in different weight classes? PN for reference is 158.2.018.2A. Thank you.

I don't believe you could buy rods from Ducati based on weight. At the factory, during assembly, they may match the weights to a certain tolerance to achieve an acceptable level of engine balance and code them with paint.

If that's the case, and you buy a pair from the same engine they'd have the same tolerance level as the factory. An engine builder would know where to remove weight to match rod weight.

Thank you, I'll check with Ducati as well. I'm hoping to just change the one that's slightly bent and leave the other one as is, but don't want that to mess up the balance.
