1999 Monster 750 Cafe' Racer.... ? Thoughts?

Local guy selling one that sounds pristine with a lot of work done by the best shop around who could vouch for the bike and the work they did.
He hasn't sold it yet. Was listed originally for $6500, then $5500. Said he'd sell it to me for $5k.
It's got new this, new that, clean title, 45k miles, unique paint job (think Miami Dolphins color scheme - not my first choice).
Anyone familiar with this year Monster? It would be nice to have one sit in the garage again for me to ride maybe a few times a year...

All the carby Monsters were pretty similar. A little bit anemic. The only issue that I remember were base gasket leaks. Chances are that's already been addressed.
Tires/belts/chain/fluids all good? If it truly needs nothing, then go for it.

Sounds promising
It's probably worth more than they can get. That's just the way it is with an old modified bike, even if it's taken care of by enthusiasts and professionals. Suggest 4,000?
Have fun

Whichever carbs it’s wearing, be sure to drain the float bowls before storage.
750 engines from ‘99 were underpowered for sure, but changes can be made if you want for a more peppy ride.
Base gasket leaks: yes. I’m certain at this point though, that’s been corrected (as stated above).
If it’s got the stock forks, they weren’t adjustable and went through fork seals if ridden hard on the single disc brake side.
The BB1105 ignition modules (by 1999) weren’t an issue and the ignition curve is good enough for most folks/mods/riding.
Since the engine is 9.0:1 compression, *if* the former owner ran high-octane fuel (91) all the time, the piston and combustion chamber will have filled up with carbon deposits. Not a big deal, but those carbon deposits (if left uncleaned) will necessitate the continued use of 91 octane fuel.
I’m sure there’s more, but what can you tell me about the mods done to the bike? That may help pull more info from my grey-matter storage unit.

Thanks guys. What's the process these days to load pics??
The seller messaged me again yesterday with the "I have a lot of interest in it so if you're serious...." (I don't bow to pressure.)
From the listing:
$3200 worth of work done by Boulder Motorsports (has receipts).
Completely gone through and tuned. Runs perfect. Parts updated.
Hand made/hammered seat from Pakistan
New exhaust
Handle bar mirrors
LED headlight, rear lights and blinkers.
Low profile blinkers integrated into front fork and rear seat.
"I was very thorough getting the bike to be a one of a kind cafe racer."
If you're on book of face, you can find the listing on marketplace in Lafayette, CO.

You still need to host them elsewhere...
I don't see anything about tires, belts, etc...

My instinct is to warn people not to buy a highly customized bike. Local reputable shop, paper work in order, go for it!
Timing belts, less than two years. Brake fluid changed yearly. Tires less than six years old.

My waffling on this bike was probably for the best. CT scan yesterday afternoon of my foot wasn't favorable so I just messaged the guy that I was out.

Thank you. Nothing too quick about this foot issue.
Today the seller texted (after I told him I wouldn’t be riding for a long while & I wasn’t going to buy): how does $4500 sound. Your foot will heal.
He says he’s got $3200 in plus his own personal time. $4k offer may have originally been insulting but maybe not at this point. (Belts replaced too.)
However better my $ sit in the bank while I recoup me thinks.

) is 4,000
