It shook that bad for you guys? It danced around pretty good here in Santa Ana. My cell phone isn't working either.

I didn't feel chit in Century City because I was walking at the time. All I saw was a bunch of people eating outside at a cafe all of the sudden hop up from their tables. What a day. First that fatal stabbing next door. Now, a quake (and I didn't even get to feel it).

I'm about five miles from Chino Hills, the epicenter, and I haven't felt the Earth move like that since me and Scarlett Johansson hooked up.
Not really, but I did poop myself a little.

I live about 2 miles from the center of the quake. I'm afraid of what I will find when I get home tonight. Probably lost a lot of nice Riedel crystal. I'm in a 3 story office building in Anaheim. We all bailed out when the shaking subsided because there were ceiling tiles coming apart.

I wonder what an earthquake feels like when you're riding.

Meh, ceiling tiles are nothing. Most office buildings just the foam acoustic tile stuff that isn't really dangerous or anything. Now, if lights were falling that's another story. And yeah, I'd hate to see your house.
Was the bike with you at work or at home? I'd be worried about it having tipped over.

You're disappointed about having missed a fatal stabbing?
I can understand being upset about missing the quake. If you're not near the epicenter it's a fun ride. There's guys redoing the wood trim around my apartment complex. Luckily they weren't on their ladders when the quake hit.

We're twelve miles from the epicenter. I'm not in town so I didn't feel it. My wife was driving and she didn't feel it.
I have three bikes in the garage: one on front and read stands, one on a side stand, and one leaning against the wall. None of them moved.

what quake?
ohhhh...wait, maybe that's why a dozen of my coworkers and I were hiding under the conference room table this morning. And here I was thinking that we were just playing a game.
Kidding aside, one of my dogs was being a total nut case this morning and was insane when I got home post-quake. Spooooky.

Aw, it got downgraded from 5.8 to 5.4. Now that I think about it, it makes sense that your bikes are fine, Lester. It was more a rolling quake than a rapid oscillating quake. I don't expect many people to get much damage. I'm betting mostly precariously placed objects like top-heavy vases or pictures.

So here in downtown at 30 stories up I got a pretty good shake. Couple of little things fell of the shelf but nothing major. A little bigger than the one that shook downtown about 2.5 years ago.
Went to the parking garage and the bike was still standing. Hopefully the same deal at home. I think the worst thing about the whole quake was that MCDonalds closed at lunch.
Keep moving folks, nothing to see here
