Opinions on dry clutch choices

My clutch is on the way out.  I am looking at replacing it with a quieter setup that also adds some bling.  I am looking at the STM 48 tooth setup and the Motowheels billet basket and plate kit.  What are y'all's experiences with these?

I can attest to the procutting pack being very quiet. I had one that I wore through completely and even when the friction material was gone it was still quieter than stock.

However, I do believe that Barnett friction material is more prone to corrosion than others, so you might not want to go that route if you plan to park your open-clutched bike in the rain a lot.

+1 on this option. I just installed this two weeks ago and it was big improvement. It's noticeably quieter than my previous stock set-up.

I replaced my worn out stock clutch with the pro cutting basket+barnett plates from Desmotimes.
Lost about 2.6 pounds in the process, engine feels like it spins up faster, and engagement was much better than my old clutch (granted my old clutch was pretty worn out). And it's almost as quiet as a wet clutch bike, which is both good and bad (bad because I sort of miss the JINGLE JINGLE).

Once my bank account recovers from my latest string of upgrades I was thinking of getting a slipper clutch / fancy cutout cover. I was just curious how the the cutout covers work with moisture... is there any danger of getting too much water in the clutch? I try not to ride through giant puddles or in extreme downpours, but this is South Florida and sometimes it just happens without much advance notice.

If I were getting a slipper, I'd get the Surflex from Motowheels.

it's quite and it's got a light pull and best of all it's a LOT less maintenance.

I have no problem with moisture or water for that matter. Here in the bay area, we don’t get much rain. However, I should say, that I ride my bikes in the rain and I have not seen any problems with the clutch so far.
The noise level is less than the stock clutch. I have to say however that if you have a monster that is 2002 or older, it may stop singing and may only make noise. Unfortunately and this is only my belief, Ducati change something on the clutch later on that newer bikes just make noise and not music. the 900s, 749, and the 916/ 996 and 998 really sound sweet. IMO.
My bike is a 2005 M1000, what can I say, I really don’t like the sound of my clutch as much as that of the other bikes I stated before.
