Brenda and I were going to take advantage of the great weather and ride this weekend. Sunday works for us, so we'll plan on being at Monte's around 9ish.

Hey you all!  I just heard from JJ, remember him, (the threadbare-tire rider on the tricolore)?  He is running around Telluride tomorrow and said he would like to meet up with us.  I told him I would meet him in Gunnison between noon and 1PM.  So I will see you at Monte's at 9AM, then will be heading west either out Ute Pass or down through Salida, whichever route gives me the most miles with the gang.  Just keep that in mind for a possible route tomorrow morning.  P.S.  He has new rubber.   [moto]

Great pictures, you two!  I had just finished uploading mine to photobucket, but I like yours better.  I will still post a few.

Here we are taking off from Montegue's:

The coffee shop at Deckers is like Coffee at Dawn in Cedar Crest in New Mexico.  Everyone seems to meet there from Denver and Colorado Springs to stage for their runs up and back to Pine Junction and down to Woodland Park.

All good shots, I like the fact that there's no dumpster, just a liquor store instead,  laughingdp and the shot of Butch with 900 is really cool, on the maiden voyage after He repaired the fuel pump issue's, Very good ride indeed. Hope We get at least one more [moto] ...

Great day!  Wonderful roads I've never seen before, but will again.  Nice to meet some other folks in the club.  Beautiful weather, good times.  Here's looking forward to another outing soon.

Yup, it could not have been much better, and great pic's for our club public record. We just need more peeps to show up for these rides. We'll have more nice days, but can't count on the roads staying clear of sand much longer. For those venturing the Deckers/HP Hill/Pine Junction route, watch for sand/gravel starting to accumulate in the curves, we were seeing a little this past weekend.

Yes, it was a beautiful day.  I'm glad I got to ride with all of you.  Maybe we will be able to squeeze one more group ride in.  I can't get into the mindset of putting the bike away for the winter, but I will stay off the sandy twisties.  Back and forth to Canon City is going to happen for sure.

Sad news that I hate to share, but I got an email from a friend saying there was a fatal accident where we were just riding on Sunday. Apparently it occurred a little after 1pm, so we were well past where it happened. Makes me wonder if it was one of the young ladies in the parking lot when we made our stop in Deckers earlier in the day. Very sad though. Be careful on that road, it gets very busy on these nice days that are happening more rarely.

"A young woman was killed last Sunday afternoon while riding south on Hwy 67. She hit another rider who was braking hard then crashed into the guardrail on a long downhill section of the road between the scenic overlook and the general store. "

Pete said that when he was up there at 4PM on Sunday, they had the road closed due to a motorcycle accident involving two bikes and that there was a fatality.  I had been watching the news since Sunday night and trying to find more on it online, but no details were forthcoming.  Thank you for posting that, John.  I was really sad to hear about it and kind of in shock since we had just ridden through there a couple hours before.  While trying to wrap my mind around it, the questions were whether she was one of the sportsbike riders or on a cruiser.  It is alot clearer now as I followed some of the links on the website you posted.   Cry  RIP Sport Rider.
