Soooo I'm tying the knot next year and the (soon to be) missus wants to go shopping for wedding rings.
She already knows what she wants but I'm on the fence about what I want.

I'm thinking just a straight up gold band. nothing fancy. Anyone have any cool ideas? I'm going to wearing this thing for the next 50 years...

Free  [bacon] if I go with your idea.

I think I'd be tempted to go with a titanium and carbon fiber unit.   ;D

Or if you prefer a wider band...

Titanium...cheap, doesn't wear out, and looks cool.  ;D

My wedding ring is titanium!  [thumbsup]

$100 for a simple squared off band.

You just have to buy the right size and not plan on getting fat fingers because they are hard to get resized.

The CF looks ghey, by the way.

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

I've heard Ti can be an issue if you smash it onto your finger because ERs don't have anything to cut it.

I don't mind the CF but I could see me getting tired of it.
Ti sounds like a good idea but... I am the kind of person who could very likely smash his fingers.  :P
What about Tungsten Carbide?

Oh christ. I've heard thsi too many times before. How many times a year do ERs around the country need to actually cut off a wedding band? 6? 7? and if my finger is so make the beast with two backsed up that they need to actually cut off the ring to try to save it, I'm betting it's a goner anyway.

Just FYI, I worked in an OR for a year. I saw 4 cases that were headed to the OR in one year that had to have rings cut off. And thats in a non trauma hospital.

Can't hurt to know the facts about a ring before you buy it. I don't have a problem with Ti rings, just letting you know what I saw in a year.
