Hey fellas, when you asked your lady to marry you did she say, "Yes." I don't mean did she accept, but did she actually verbalize the word "yes" when you were done saying "Will you marry me?" I've heard a lot of stories about when it is a surprise the woman will do a lot of hugging and kissing and crying and such, but often forget to say the word, "yes."

Ladies, did you know it was coming? Did you say the word, "Yes."

Way cool. I took my lady to a small town north of Frankfurt where here parents lived in the 60s. Proposed at the Cathedral that dominates the background of many of the pictures they have from back then. Found it by complete luck the first night we were there. And she did not say "yes." Neither did my friend Shelly when her husband asked her (took her to Australia). Don't you women get that we take you on these trips, not to be romantic, but so that you can't run away?  [cheeky]

I imagine that if some one asked me to marry them in the middle of a blizzard my response would have been, "Maybe, ask again in Aruba."

now that i think about popping the question....
that's a lot of pressure to come up with something notable...

a friend of mine told me one day that her boyfriend offered her a dresser drawer at his apt.
she asked me what she should do... i said she should hold out for the entire dresser...

a couple months later, he proposed to her in a field, with torches that lead the way to a dinner for two with all the fixin's
the ring was on the dresser he also had set up in the field.
