I was thinking of getting a ride together for Estacada/Detroit Lake on the 16th.

Figuring on leaving ~10AM.  Likely from the Tigard area . . .

Leaving for Estacada/Detroit Lake from Peet's Coffee in Bridgeport Village tomorrow at 10AM.

Who's coming?

I'd love to go but I can't make this one, I'm dog sitting for some friends and there's the Soap Box Derby at Mt Tabor on Saturday, starts about the time your leaving.

Ride safe, stay hydrated all y'all who ride in the heat.

Tomorrow is going to be effin' hot... some friends of mine are going creekwalking back into Oneonta Falls, out in the Gorge.  The creek runs through this deep, narrow canyon, nicely shaded, and the water's plenty cold.  Smiley  Methinks I'm gonna go join them in an effort to avoid the heat.

It's either that or I'm riding to the coast (which is supposed to be something like 70 degrees).

Ride safe and have fun!  waytogo

Are you trying to say Asshole bucko?  Tongue

I had a guy at Plan B last night come up to me and talk to me when I arrived.  Wanted to talk about the bike . . . called me "cowboy" . . .

Not sure why but it irritated me.

Oh, I've been through Detroit numerous times, just never made it there on the motorcycle.

As far as the weather:
Estacada is currently 102.  Forecast is for tomorrow to hit 98.
Detroit is currently 96.  Forecast for tomorrow is also 98.
(from weather.com & the Nat'l Weather Service's Portland office)

Too effin hot.  Tongue

I've been up hiking near Mt. Hood and camping out in the mountains when it gets this hot... the problem is the east wind, so you get scorched regardless.  That hot air is comin' from the east side of the Cascades, so up there on the fringe of the mtns is gonna be nearly as hot as the valley.

Two escapes for those without A/C: find cool running water, or head for the coast (which has what?  LOTS of 55 degree water).  waytogo  Mike should be livin' it up this weekend!

Nah, it's just too bloody hot for my taste, and I was typing from work... too much accumulated OT (without pay) makes Dan cranky.
