Things are going fine.  There's been some confusion to what's actually going on. My midwife was informed the baby has heart defects, which the hospital did not inform me about. Coincidentally, she didn't get news of the cyst either.

So now we're playing the waiting game while my midwife works with the radiologist to figure out exactly what's happening.

Hope everything works out good for you. As far as these "heart defects" go. Before you stress yourself out to much, let me say this. It's seems like everyone I know who has had a kid in the last five years(myself included), has had the Dr.'s say "heart defects". Now either the instances of heart defects has risen sharply,.... or due to new technology they can detect things they couldn't twenty years ago. That said within month's of the birth of my little girl they were wanting to do a massive surgury to "fix" her heart. I asked the Dr.s "if this had happened 40yrs ago would it have required this surgery?" They said "we probably wouldn't have caught it". I said that it sounded like an un-neccessary surgery then and I'd like to monitor it for awhile first before any big decisions, it healed and took care of itself on it's own. This same thing happened with two of my nieces. Just food for thought.

As wannaDucBad said,  Do not jump into anything to quickly.  I worked for a Birth Center and most of the babies that were born there were to have heart problems.  About 99% were just fine.  Monitor it and go from there.  You just take care of yourself and your baby.  If the Doc says to take it easy then take it easy.  Like I said I worked for a Birth and Womens Health center.  If you have any thoughts or questions please, please, do not hesitate to PM me with any questions you may have.  I am here if you need me.

If it makes you feel better I was there when Alic Baldwin and his wife had their baby.  The Docs at the hospital told them that their baby had a heart problem and that they needed to have the baby at the hospital and not the Birth Center,  Well the baby was born at the Center and all is well.  I cant remember which Baldwin it was, but it was one of them. lol It was a while ago.

So, Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.

My thoughts are with you, Take care of you and your baby.

congrats on the new boy.

my youngest had the same cysts, and we were nervous to, until we found out more about them. They are just starting to be recognized more, but they still are linked to bad things. My wife's OB said her child had them also, and that it is now as common as 1 in 4. So don't worry. Enjoy the moment.

congrats!  Vino!

don't stress any diagnostic stuff yet. babies change so fast, and develop on their own schedule. they never went to med school and so don't know that they're doing it "wrong." it'll work out.

+1
Mine didn't know he wasn't a girl as they told us via ultrasound until we said, "Whoa!  It's got a kickstand!"  So as much as doctors "know" before the baby is born, they don't know everything.  Keeping all fingers, toes, and kickstands crossed for you.

So apparently I'm a little late to this thread...  Embarrassed

(lest anyone think I'm being a complete slacker, I was one of the early local ones to congrat Neenja in person)

C, I'll be praying for the things which have shown up in these preliminary ultrasounds/tests.  I have faith our little NorthWest Ducatisti-in-the-making will be just fine.  waytogo  Best wishes!
