honestly. i don't think you and i got the same kit. my cw kit came with great instructions. and if followed word by word the installation should go smoothly. i have no sharp edges, no blown fuses, and the wire harness fits perfectly. my only gripe is that i received my kit with no license mount. i contacted monsterparts and they are shipping it to me rite now. (what great people.)

So I added the Ducati tail chop. It's night and day as far as quality is concerned (plastic feels super cheap), but it does the job. Although the CW kit looks extra tight on the bike, which is nice.
I have been making some small mods lately as well. I just added the Termi kit w/ECU and filter. I was trying to avoid going to the dealer, but it looks like I have to anyway. After adding the kit, Ducati sent me a EU ECU and everything is now metric and my speed is now in km/h. Anyone have this happen to them before? Maybe I just need to call Ducati and see if there is a US ECU instead? Anyone have any thoughts here??
Regardless, the bike runs completely different now. It's sooo much smoother and if anyone is debating on whether or not to go with the Termi cans, I say it's worth it. After about 1500 miles on the bike without the new cans and ECU, I feel like I am on a new ride.
Changing the mirrors and pulling off the tank badges also made a big difference to the bike. I added some black chrome decals instead, but still not sure if I dig them. I might either pull them off all together, or get another set in regular material. Thoughts?

from what i know you can change the setting on the computer yourself.
it's in the owner's manual how to set the country.
also how come you kept the baffles in?
you gotta paint the exhaust hangers black.

I must be looking in the wrong place, but I can't seem to find where it instructs on how to change the country.
I just put the cans on today, but yeah, I need to black out the hangers. I left the baffles in for now. Sounds decent, but I do a ton of highway riding to and from work and from what I gather, it's super loud. Plus I think my neighbors at my current house already hate my 7AM warm-ups.
At an idle, is it super loud? If not then I might pull them out tomorrow.

nevermind. After more google searching, I found a post from another owner and they explained how to go into 'pro mode' and set the country. I'm in business!

you should do a mileage check with baffles/wo baffles. i'd be interested to see if there's a difference. from what i read there's a diff with the kit vs no kit. but wonder if the additional backpressure from the baffles would help.

that's a good idea. I'll ride the bike as is this week and then make the switch next weekend. With the stock cans and ECU, I was getting about 50 mpg. I'm curious to see what I get now.

sending it back. i don't like the Competition Werks tail after further looking at it and how it fits. plus i have to pay extra to powdercoat it. all in all not happy.
NOW, i found a replacement today.
Wasn.t gonna tell you all til i got it in and checked it out, but i like the look. it's cleaner and looks like it fits better, even has the key on the side not underneath. AND it's already black. it has the euro plate mount, but i may need that soon enough anyway. but it's not as big as the DP euro mount or even the barracuda.

dollar pound rate sucks though.
i will give a full report when i get it.

just installed mine today. crappy cell phone pics but you get the point. i orderd the kit from monsterparts and it was missing a peice. so the sales dude at monster parts got me another one right away. i love it. its clean, looks great, and adds sexy points to the bike. took about 30 mins to install. better pics of the am turn signals soon.

just a heads up, i had an unfortunate run-in with these guys....
got the identical tail tidy for my 2006 triumph speed triple from them,
had some minor issues with it, no biggie,
they NEVER returned a single email or addressed ANY of my issues...
EVER.
customer service = ZERO
forewarned is forearmed...
anybody need a euro tail tidy for a 2005-2007 speed triple...?

I like the direction you are going with your bike, looks great. I'm on the fence about your chrome decals. Look OK in the pics but I suspect they look better in person? Where did you get them?

It took me about 3 hrs to install the competition werks tail chop kit as the instructions left alot to be desired. It required me to play around guessing about such things as cable routing for the seat latch but now that it is done I,m happy.
