As the last was a good success (13 Bikes) I am already thinking of the next ride. Any ideas? Dates? Thinking something different, Maybe an overnight, charity run or early brekky run  Huh? Lets mix it up a little. INPUT PLEASE.

Well going back sometime and infact it was my very first ride with this group shortly after I got my Monster was a Breaky run to Bathurst.
Mmick had threatened he'd do another Breaky run so this could be a good option.
We went out straight up the Great Western but came back via Bells Line etc....

If you wanted to do an overnight then we could always take ourselves along for the Thunder Rally.

Me I'd like to do the Bathurst Breaky ride again, it was an excellent day I covered a zillion k's in the day and was absolutely knackered when I got home.

Brekky run would be good. Maybe we could get an alternate route via hawkesbury Rd and springwood, there is a nice tight section and a pretty impressive lookout which could be good for a photo...

Melvin, I am able to do the odd weekday ride now and then, I might have some time towards the end of the month. I will keep you in mind

I know that road, I drove an M3 like a mad man up and down, up and down there for a couple of hours one time.
We could meet out at the start of Richmond Road or somewhere around there.

Mmmmmm, a fun road on a Monster it would be Master Yoda. A fun road it would be indeed.

Routes:
A Bathurst run would be awesome! We could take a leisurely spin around Mt Panorama. What better spot to take photos than Skyline? Or some action shots rolling through the esses and the dipper! waytogo

Is this route the sort of thing you had in mind Matty?  [Updated to include the Hawkesbury Road Lookout and the Tarana/Lake Lyall bypass]

Unfortunately most of the Great Western Highway up the hill is err, batshit boring imo. Lots of traffic (and  Police) for most of the way to Katoomba in my experience.. But once you clear the Mt Victoria turnoff and start rolling down the hill into Lithgow things get better.

I'm more than happy to do an exploratory run to scope it over the next couple of weeks to identify spots where we can get fuel and food (and avoid two hours waits  Cry)

Dates:
October is pretty busy; there's the Labour Day Long weekend/ARL Grand Final(4th-6th), Bathurst V8 Supercars and Thunder Rally (9th-12th) and Turismo 2008 (20th-23rd).

We could try for the weekend of the 27th/28th of September. It's almost in line with the traditional 2 month (ish) gap between runs we've had between to last two bigs rides.  Only thing is that is AFL grand final weekend (but let's face it, it's gonna take and act of god for the Swans to make the GF)

Either that or I guess we would need to push it out to November. I'm not fussed really. Given enough notice I can get the day off to ride during the week.

That's pretty much the way we have been before.
Check out Hawkesbury Road off Castlereagh Road, it pops out onto the GW via Springwood.
I can also do weekdays as Melvin and a few of the others know.
So let's see where the chat takes us.

Gah, knew i forgot something. Too much time spent adding embedded URLs Smiley.

I've updated the Google Maps link to include the lookout on Hawkesbury Rd.

It was my first ride with the group as well.

From Bathurst back through Tarana (spelling??) and past Lake Lyall, great piece of road! And then down the Bells Line and stop off at Richmond Pub. Cheesy

I would do that run again in a heartbeat. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Updated link includes the run via Tarana and Lake Lyall. Is that the one you are talking about Super?

p.s. I'm still laughing at the T.I.B. bit.
