Have always been a Holden owner, but I don't really give a rats what type of car I drive these days. From a LX Torana SLR 5000 Hatch, 1965 HD Premier, '74 HJ Premier with a 308 in it, VH SL/E Dunnydore, VL Calais and now with my current piece of sh*t which I don't drive, Vicky Vectra  vomit.

Have always been a fan of the Mopars, a mate of mine's Dad had???, (don't know if he has still got it as his Dad passed away a few years back), an original R38 Charger sitting on bricks and covered with blankets in his shed, silver and black with the red highlighted grill and it was IMMACULATE! I remember when he pulled the blankets off it and popped the bonnet and there were those huge triple webers still shiny and new.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Anyway, next car will be Japanese or Euro.  waytogo

Ha Ha bet you wish you still had the SLR $$$$$ today bang head  original R38 Charger WOW  Shocked  id snap that one up Super

I personally own 2 old school holdens,I may add i have only ever owned old school the current range of Holden’s just don’t do it for me I also have a Found On Rubbish Dump but its a F250 so I cant compare it to the Oz build ones.

Well, it didn't really start out as a SLR 5000. Grin

When I got my hands on it, it only had a 253 in it. I stuck a nitrous bottle on it and blew it up.  Grin

So I had to just stick a 308 in it which was warmed out to 332.  bacon bacon bacon

Hmm... cars..
I owned track day weapons, (Alfa GT modified for circuit racing and 306 Peugeot for supersprinting)
Fords... (XF Fairmont Ghia, 1.6lt Meteor)
Holdens... (VK Calais with Director pack 5.0Lt)
Jap stuff... (Nissans, Yota's)
currently have a 98 Honda Accord... my friends call it the Hondborrzzzzz.... Tongue
I also Valet Drove in 5* hotels for 8 years part-time, so I've driven stacks of cars... yes, even Fezzas (the Hanna brothers 355 and 360 come to mind as memorable, both with Tubi exhausts!)

Non of them come close to my race Kart for fun, thrill or perfomance though!  Evil

Then I have the Duke,... it fills the void that only a d'cati motorcycle can do best.  [moto] waytogo

I had a 1953 ford prefect once, (with a crank handle for cold mornings).
I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Holden/Ford, a little like Ducati versus Harley debate.

Ford (Harley)   Overweight lumps of cast iron piloted by greyhaired, ponytailed supperannuated types, who like to dress up in their brands clothes and hang around together, polishing their chrome bits.

Ducati (Holden ) pinnacle of engineering excellence, piloted by sophisticated, stylish types, ahead of the pack in both how and what they drive.

(i've got a ford)  Wink

No,no,no,no,no,no.....and....no.

Your Mac is like a Porsche, magnificence through slight refinement with each generation.

Your PC...is like a broken tractor that is being besieged by teenage scumbags with molotov cocktails just so they can watch you burn. It's ugly, unproductive and just when the thing barely gets moving some idiot decides to kill the thing just because girls won't play with him. There really isn't anything in the car world that we can compare a PC too, bits and pieces from a whole bunch on manufacturers with no stability and anything longer than 2 weeks without a crash and your must be dream'n.

But seriously folks, how can you even mention Ducati in the same breath as Holden or Ford.
We own Ducatis because we are discerning, classy, urbane, devil may care types, we are more the sort of people who would own a Ferrari or lambo. (if we hadn't spent all our cash on bling.)

Land of the rising sun is the only way to go. Ford and Holden are always 5 to 10 years behind in technology, still using push rod engines aren't they?

jap garbage huh? if you want to look at a photocopy instead of an oil canvas i guess they're ok Roll Eyes
holden still use pushrods, yes, but my XR8 is a 5.4litre quad cam 32 valve cross ram fuel injected ute with a 6 speed, and yes it still runs leaf springs in the back but only on the ute cos they work!!
i've had some ripper cars over the years, a mini cooper, a R100 12A mazda, a XA GT, an E55 charger with 6pack and a 4 speed new process box, a maloo ute, a stroked HZ tonner, and the list goes on. so no, i have no allegiance to a brand, except DUCATI of course, but if i had the cash i'd definitely have an audi RS4 waytogo

Right, so a British Leyland with 'scrape the social security payments' written on the side doing 'blocks' around the Collingwood commission flats on a Saturday night = PC computer connected to the web.

How can you say that Spider. A PC is like a hot rod. You can customise them anyway you want, bigger flasher case with water cooling, smaller home theatre silent running systems, multiple CPU's under the bonnet, multiple SLI'd video cards for extra grunt, and anything in between.

The Mac is like a Hyundai, theres not much you can, or would want to do except pox it up with spoilers and scoops, but esentially its the same under the skin.
 Grin

BTW, the best car I owned was an 5 ltr ED Fairmont, but I havn't had anything exotic .... yet (i have a grampa car Subaru at the moment)

excuse me dos verde, but a mac is NOT like a hyundai!!! good lord! you can do all that other stuff to a pc, yes, you have to to keep them running!!! a mac is reliable, safe, and dependable, i fact i think if it has to be compared to a car it would be a volvo, reliable, safe and dependable, and just as volvos are built for guys who don't want to tinker under the hood, macs are too.
