Main body with paint; the paint is a three-part lacquer (specific primer, colour coat, then specific gloss) which is why the colour coat alone is semi-gloss. This will be polished, then clear coated, then polished again, then decals, then another clear coat, then final polish and wax. That doesn't include painting the white numberplates, which adds over a WEEK (three-four coats, one day between coats, then one week of curing before polishing) to my painting process.

Exhaust (poorly) showing the heat discolouration. In better light it's actually gold-silver-gunmetal gradations.

Controls


Rad and V-piece. The V-piece is painted semi-gloss black on my bike. The metal grille over the oil-cooler aperture is a piece taken off my bike - it's cut from the intake mesh (which I don't use). Nice to have a connection to the real thing.

I started my Tamiya 916SP model 4 years ago.. I did the engine and made the chain, the forks look shite without metal sliders. I may just have to get some ideas from you
