i was gonna call randy but this morn was the only time i had to do it except for late (9pm or later)
in the evening. he will get some of my business soon enough. today was a decent day but got alot better. the ride to eurosport was awkward with 2 tires wrapped around my waist however some kid did make me laugh when the best he could come up with at the light was "dude! u look like the michelin man. hahahahaha!" i get to eurosport at 10:00 a.m. told work i would be in at noon. the guys there were nice esp tony and scott ( another patron in there said scott used to ride in moto gp when i mentioned i normally use AMS-A). don't know if it was true but whatever. so at 12:00 a gentlemen in overalls walks out and says your chain is trashed you need a new one A.S.A.P. we can do it now for X amount. i told him to just put the tire on and let me get to work as i am already late. so at 12:30 (2 1/2 hours ) i pay and i am headed to work. i call ams when i get there and ask if when they did my warranty brake work 3 weeks ago ( and i have only ridden to work 3x since then) did they notice anything wrong with my chain. i was told as recall everything was in really good shape. so now who do i believe. i looked at my chain with a magnifing glass and don't see any stress marks everything looks good on both sprockets. i am sure those guys are good decent guys but it just didn't feel right like when i walk into ams and tara and mark call me by name. so the tires are on, i am on my way and my son has said he will purchase me a new ramp if it comes back screwed up. so all in all not a bad day (at least the only crap in my yard belongs to the dogs all be it a great dane and a lab so they look like bombs)

That's not too bad, at least you have new tires on.  How many miles do you have on that chain?  I can't imagine it being so bad that they said it was trashed.  If you need help w/ the chain, I have the chain tool that can cut and press a new chain on.  Sunday at ***'s could be a prime time to do it.

Chris,

How many miles on your Monster? If you take good care of your chain ( lube, clean, adjust, etc...) on a 600/695/696 it should last a long time. Don't know those folks in FW at all but if AMS just recently saw your bike and noticed the mileage I would like to think they would have said something to you about the chain and sprockets if they needed changing. I gave carte blanche to Jeff over my 916SPS work and he could have reamed me on a hundred different levels but they only did what we originally talked about. I have no doubt they looked at other things and if they needed updating they would have done it. Period. waytogo Good enough for me.

Roll Eyes From General he moves up to Field Marshall Charming which sounds a little Teutonic, so in order to keep with an Italian theme either Holy Roman Emperor Charming or Pope Charming are more fitting!  applause  Don't think Scott has a royal bloodline & I'm not calling him H.R.H. ( His Royal Highness ) under any circumstances !!  vomit

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.
