i have an epicycle battery tender, it charges at 35 mA which is bugger all, but it's designed to leave on when the bike isn't in use. that means a healthier battery, starter, and fuel injection, not to mention the alternator isn't pumping huge amps into a nearly flat battery once the thing has struggled into life.

I have a "Projecta" from Motorcycle Accessories Supermarket (www.mcas.com.au). Only cost about $65, and keeps everything charged nicely and ready to go.
