Regardless of the cause/effect that is some beautiful footage.

"Riding shouldn't be about electronics".  I agree.  My fear is electronics could take me down faster than a deer when things go wrong.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw that—it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Co-worker with a BMW has an occasionally malfunctioning ABS module.  $2,600 replacement cost.  Dealer (we all know) "you can ride without it but it could prevent the brakes from working at any given moment".

No thanks, I'll take a pass.

When the government puts out terminator deer to cull the biker population I, for one, am going to vote libertarian.  Just sayin'.

Never, ever saw it stop the brakes from working, except where the ABS was activating when it wasn't supposed to and you had to apply more pressure to stop.  Have seen many instances where the brakes apply all by themselves, even to the point of locking the wheel and not letting go.  Shocked  Customer quote "It's like a ghost is in the car applying the brakes and turning the steering wheel" ---- good fun.   Roll Eyes

Okay maybe the brakes just lock up without warning.  Probably worse that way.

Getting back into the message Suzuki is saying "Our electronics suck.  We can't make them stable enough to be relied on so we've decided to leave them off".  I choose not to argue with that position.

Plus, as a corollary to your earlier statement, the fact that electronics aren't there means you don't have to pay to fix them when they go out.  And go out they will.

  And go out they will.

That sums my opinion in a nutshell.  Hopefully not while you're overextended in corner and counting on electronics to allow you to ride beyond your skill level.

And yeah, a $2600 replacement module would turn either of my rides into scrap metal.

Did an abbreviated Sunday ride today and then stopped by SSD...on the showroom floor, an SFS and a 848 SF, both in slate gray...the Ducatic Corse 848 EVO SE has a sold sign on the seat...

Yeah, it had a "sold" sign on it last Tuesday.  I do wonder what Ducati has in store for the 849!  Dolph

On a separate note...a friend emailed me this amusing graphic...   chug
