All the Ducati's made the 1290SDR possible!

Stopped by South Seas today to have Shawn look at the 848 expanded fuel tank. The "wrecked" Panigale Tricolore was still there. Apart from the end of the front brake lever being broken off I couldn't see any other damage except for a loose, possibly broken left rear turn signal. No plates on the bike and the tires are barely used, not even scrubbed. I have no idea why that bike is still there.

They also had a new red S1000RR in the showroom    drool  and what is being touted as a 998R in the used lot. I may go back tomorrow to have another look at the 998.  Something tells me it's not a genuine R. Like the lack of Ohlins front forks.

Later I also thought I saw Jing on the Pali heading back to Kailua just a little after noon.

The new Beemer is a pretty impressive machine. It just feels soulless to me though. Were you ever able to take that RSV4 for a spin?

I have an upcoming dissertation on the soul of bikes and their riders.

When I went back down to Cycle City to take them up on the offer of a RSV4 test I found the Aprilias shoved back way down the line away from the nearest door.  All the salespeople were jamming. Harley's were flying out the door almost as fast as they could assemble them.  Roll Eyes   Huh?

So no, no test ride ......yet.  Don't worry, you'd be one of the first to know.    Dolph

Went back to SS today and had a second look at the 998R.  Definitely a 998 but not an R.  Has the carbon body work and the Ohlins rear along with Marvic wheels. Just not the Marvic forged wheels, no Ohlins on the front and no Limited Edition number plaque.

Bill knew the history of the bike. Whew! I'm saved from myself again!

LOL....

Just my opinion....but the images I have seen of the 998R...don't look nearly as good as your 848.

Other than the exclusivity of the 998R?.....plus yours has the Ohlin's front end!!! waytogo waytogo
