I saw those bikes the other day. I'm not liking the new Monster one bit. It's fatter now, lower & longer. Morphing into a Diavel I say.

Went down to South Seas this afternoon. All four or five of the BMW S1000RR's are gone, including the HP4!!
I think all of them were there last weekend. Crazy baby.

Two BMWs on the floor this morning, a black S1000RR and a frozen purple S1000R...also, a R1100S Boxer Cup replica in the customer motorcycle parking...
Also sighted on my windward run this morning, an HPD solo biker hiding in the shadows below that elevated lookout point just before the Kaneohe off ramp...heart jumped into my throat when I saw him, but I was only doing 65 or so and he paid me no mind...

Looks purple to me...and I can see that "flat" paint slowing it down some...

I know. I went in the showroom one afternoon & it actually looked flat black for a moment to me. You know, these eyes aren't what they used to be and they were never that good to begin with.

Sighted in the SSD showroom...a new Multistrada 1200S Pikes Pike, a bike I have lusted after in the past...
In the service area parking, a line of new KTM dirt bikes. They are now a KTM dealer and per Shawn have at least one 1290 SD R and an RC8 crated in the back...a couple of legal hurdles need to be cleared before they can sell KTM street bikes...

I was down there too a little while ago after getting shit from Upton.
The legal thing is only concerned with registering the bikes for the street and that probably has more to do with providing DOT/EPA certs and weighing them. Might really only be the weighing part as the bikes already pass the other stuff. The weight has to do with City & County getting money for the registration.

What, he wanted you to buy the SD?...I read someplace that they were having reliability issues...
Speaking of reliability issues, today I received a msg from the guy who bought the SF and it appears that it's running much better...

What, he wanted you to buy the SD?…
It's the bike he really wanted.

It's the bike he really wanted.
Not only that BUT I also told them a few times just before I bought the S1KR that I really did want the KTM but that I had given up on that because it looked like there wasn't going to be street dealer here for another year to a year and a half. That timeline was told to me by the folks at South Seas. Had I known at the time that I was only going to have to wait another four months it could have been a whole different story.
Now, that said, I'm not really sorry that I got the Beemer at all. It's been the best overall bike that I've ever ridden. Yes the SD1290's are having some issues but so too are some of the S1KR'S. ...................................
