They have a red wheeled one in the SSD showroom, seems to be the only one that hasn't flown out the door...

Red 848 in that movie "i am #4" since I watched it at dole I figured it counted as an island sighting.

On a side note I was quoted 600 bucks to paint the black rims on my 848 white... Does that seem high to anyone?

Depending on what kind of prep work is needed and what kind of process they are doing that might be about right. Would have to be full on 1st rate quality and that is rare over here.

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Why are you thinking about painting them white?  You do realize you'll be cleaning them just about everyday, right?

Met a guy named Jeff with a red HyperM 1100 Evo SP at SSD this morning.  Bike had shorty slip-ons that he fabricated himself...says he and his dad used to fabricate their own custom Ducs, frames & all...he's here with his wife who's in the Army at Tripler...told him about the monthly Duc ride, DesmoTropic, etc..

Yep thats me!!!  Grin and I got all sort of other little goodies on it to. next is a BAZZAZ self adj efi and a custom full exhaust.

and I also have two other Duc's on the island too. one is my full Ohlins 360lbs (wet) 944 with flat slide's and a port and polish.

( i just took out the batt and cleande the tank with detergent so i could put it in the house as part of my man cave.)

and Im thinking about riding my wifes custom Hurricane monster with you all in the next ride or two. (as it is up for sale ... 5k) im not sure how much longer it will be mine.

ps our back round is easily seen at motomaxy.net

and the white bike can be seen at Duccutters.net. then go to projects and type in white bike or snowman bike (as we refer to it)

saw two monsters in wahiawa today. one this morning on the way to work. guy was in uniform, but i didn't get a good look at the bike. stood out because the red frame. the other was in the foodland parking lot. looked good, it was all matte black. didn't see any markings on it though, but i was trying to maneuver the parking lot on foot with car traffic waiting on us.
