Well the ugly was the ride up...one bike breakdown, one car breakdown, one rider dismount (he is fine)
The bad....wasnt really anything besides my roomie's INSANE snoring. Whodathunk that a little girl could put out that horsepower?! Thank god for foam ear plugs.
The good...well the picture section will show it all. To be honest, though I missed some of the crew that normally goes to Ouray, it was super awesome just having our close friends and a few others. Great time!!

The good was geting to meet a lot of riders I've only known through the board up till now.
The bad was scrubbing in new tires in the rain on the way there, and the ugly was riding in sleet up Monarch Pass on the way back. Crikey that was cold!!!

Glad you evaded that cage. We've had a bit of a rough season this year. Thank goodness everyone made it home (except Mousey who is caging it from Denver in a few days). Post up some pics if you got em on the pic thread. It was great riding with you.

You know, I had a nice, full write up of the events that led to zasters amazing bruise... but then my net crapped out and I lost it...
Ugh. maybee I'll work up the motivation to post it later today.

blah blah blah blah blah
Ok, so here it is:
The Flight of Zaster
Coming out of Silverton towards Ouray, just before taking on Red Mountain, the road made a long, sweeping left hand turn with a passing lane. It BEGGED to be ridden fast. So with KingBaby in the lead, Zaster following, and myself behind him, we entered the scene. At the end of the left turn, the passing lane ended, and almost immediately went to a right hairpin.
Map/Terrain
At this point I was probably 20 feet behind him.
Zaster was either going too fast or didn't set the turn right (thats for him to say, I'm not sure) but ended up drifting over the center line while taking the hairpin. As he went over the center he locked the breaks and the bike began to fishtail badly. It did that all the way off the road. The front tire must have hit a rut or something, because it threw him up and off the bike along with the seat and his tank bag. He flew about 15 feet, the bike about 10. Both landed in nice, soft bushes on either side of a 4-foot boulder with about a foot to spare on either side.
Zaster woke up about 30 seconds later. A TON of bikes were stopped on that turn at that point because aside from our flight of Ducks, a herd of cruisers was coming down the hill. Zaster was ok. Bike was OK. Kingbaby got there about 2 minutes or so after it happened when he realized no one was behind him anymore. Kingbaby took the bike for a test ride.
Meanwhile, a sheriff showed up and was very nice... untill kingbaby came back down the hill. Apparently kingbaby looks honest or something and the cop didn't give him a ticket for flying down the hill.
Everyone mounted up, and we made it to Ouray incident free after that!

And here is where I went down that night!
Right on the "C" of County RD 213.
Doing the speed limit, looking for deer, very cautious. Very gentle, slight right hand turn had me next to the white line. Went up a hill. Then..... ZOMGSUPRISE! sharp left hand turn just over the apex of the hill. No warning sign. Nothing.
Was immediately in the dirt and trying to slow down gently and not repeat zasters event. Then I notice a drop off about 40 feet in front of me. Eff going over that, so i slammed the breaks, laid it over on the right side and me and the bike slid for about 30 feet. 5-10 feet later and the bike woulda gone down the hill and probably been worthless.
Called my buddy up, he came and got me. I loaded her into the truck when I got home and headed to Indiana the next morning!
