Came home early today and lifted up the gas tank and found the cracked hose.  It's one of the two main hose connected to the bottom of the gas tank, the one that's on the side of the front break as to clutch.  I am going to SSD tomorrow and see if they have the part in stock, or I may just need to have it towed to SSD for the replacement.

Just found the part no (or I think that's the part no.) 59010841A  $39 at ProItalia.

Can you use automotive fuel line like they sell at Checkers?...it would be a lot cheaper than Pro Italia...

He will need the good high pressure line, the kind with the internal support weave.  Still available at most good places but you have to be careful to get the right stuff plus this line is metric. If it's just hose clamps keeping things tight then swell. If he takes special fittings like our late model bikes then that is different too.

Actually the Pro Italia price isn't all that bad. Could also check in with Ducati Seattle. They ship fast.

Thanks guys for the input.  I went to SSD today and talked with Josh in parts.  He recommended to just bring the hose to SSD and they can cut to length for me from their Honda hose spool as long as the inner diameter is the same.  So I will try and get the hose off on Saturday and bring it down.  I hope they have the same size, otherwise I will need to order it.

When you take the old hose off you might need something to plug a possible gas leak.

Gas might eat up the earplug, maybe a bolt or a philips screwdriver would work...

maybe you could leave about an inch of hose at the tank side & screw a bolt or screw into it...

If you use a bolt you have to have a clean shank, no threads, gas will leak right past the threads. The right size phillips screwdriver works good too.

Didn't think to ask until now, are you plugging a rubber or metal fitting?...if it's metal, you may be able to use a wooden chopstick whittled down to size...
