All are welcome. We'll be heading north from Charlotte to hit NC18/old NC18 again. The link below details the ride, should be less than 6 hours from start to finish so its a nice day trip. We're by no means professional, drag a knee riders but old NC18 has some real good curves. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Sparky, if you (and your fiance) wanna come down to Charlotte the night before, I might be able to put you up at my place (living with my parents at the moment but they're cool).

I won't be able to make this one, gotta sort an electrical issue the gravel section of road I was on Saturday caused.  Most likely a loose battery connection, but I won't be able to trouble shoot until Saturday AM ~

Yup, I'll hafta catch one of these rides, I don't know the good riding outside of my local area.  That route looked nice though!

Its definitely a good route. I'll have to make it up to your neck of the woods after I get back from travelling for work. Should be nice in September.

Sorry I missed it!
Just found the thread today...
My fiance lives in DC, so I am in RTP by myself, but will have to take you up on your offer sometime.

Hope everyone has a great ride!

It was just me because someone else backed out. But it was an awesome time.

looked like a great ride..  I put my address in as the start and it told me it would be over 5 hours though...
dunno if me, my butt, and my 998 could handle that.    Sad
she can get quite toasty.
need to find someone good around here that can help me with that, actually.

I have ended up putting a lot more miles on my gsx-r as a result, which is a shame.

The first time I ran this route it took me a smidge over five hours door to door but I rode old NC 18 3 times. This time I didn't have anyone with me in case I went down so I decided not to push it and just ride through everything and go home so it only took 4 hours. Overall decent ride but not as fun as it could have been.

Are there any stopping points?  or is it just a straight ride?

There's definitely stopping points. The big one is in Morganton when you leave NC18 and go over to old NC 18. I tend to eat lunch at this point. There's also one after old NC 18 as that tends to be a tiring road due to all the twisties. Then I sometimes stop again in Polkville cause my butt starts to hurt. After that, its all the way home.
