I just went down about 30-40mins ago, this doctor lady in a Porsche Cayenne slamed on her brakes at the intersection on Paseo and San Pedro and I grabbed to much front brakes and I just slided into her ass at around 40-50mph.
My bike looks ok, she landed on her left side so it saved my Termi exhaust lol. Broken shift lever, broken mirror, bent clip ons, alittle scratch on the tank looks like it'll buff out, I'll take it to PJ's probably tomorow to get it checked out.
I rode it home afterward, the cops were really awesome all three of them followed me home to make sure I was ok lol.

My left knee feels make the beast with two backsed up, I think the bike landed on it, I'm going to get it checked out at the UNM Hospital in like 30mins.

All my gear held up, except for my jeans lol. My Suomy Flower helmet didnt touch ground (thank god), my Dainese Santa Monica held up great just a little scratch on the metal shoulder plate, my Dainese Full Metal gloves saved my left pinky from disaster just slided on the ground my pinky feel and looks normal.

Just want to remind you guys wear your gear and pay attention... which I wasn't...

Cheers,
Bill

Shit!  Damn that sucks.  Get that knee fixed up!  If you need a truck for the bike, you are welcome to mine and the ramps/straps, etc any time.  I am headed out for the next 4 days, but Dusty has all the info on how to get the truck.

Time to mod the bike!!  There is always a silver lining!

Oh, and check your steering stops on the neck of the frame....any bends, dents or chips?

Hey thanks for the truck offer! I'll let Dusty know if I need to truck it down there.

The doctor said my knee's fine just for a bruse from the bike landing on it lol.

I just checked the steering stops and the neck, the neck looks perfectly fine, but the left steering stop is dented in from the impact of the landing. For some reason I dont think I actually hit her cause my forks looks perectly fine, it rode stright on the way home from the scene nothing unsual but we'll see...

Yes time for some mods lol, I was already eyeing a set of Rizoma mirrors and a set of NCR shifter and rearsets so its the perfect excuse to buy them haha.

And man that Porsche got some good brakes, Brembo 6pistons up front and 4 in the back  Shocked. My Sport1000 barely has 2 up front lol

Thanks for the well wishes!!

Good to hear the front end is ok!  Get it checked out by PJs.

Did they cite her?

I dont think so, I think I'm lucky they didnt cite me for anything lol, tailegating or something stupid. The lady was very civil, she was a physician so she was checking up on my knee before the cops and EMT arrived.

She's going to get checked up by PJ's this saturday, I'm hoping theres nothing serious.

Glad to hear your pinky made it through the ordeal unscathed.  Not all pinkys are that lucky.  Those rear-end collisions are a pregnant dog.  You now belong to an elite club called " I Biffed It in 2008".  I thought I was pretty special when I got the "I Biffed it on the Crest and Walked Away" title, but then Zaster came along and outdid me with his "I Biffed it on Red Mountain and Walked Away".   Now we have a Rear-End Collisions of 2008 Club and Left-turning Cager Cut Me Off Club of 2008.  I am a card-carrying member of all three.  Isn't that special?  I get a little more experienced with each encounter and right when I think I can't be any more cautious and paranoid, I have yet another humiliation.  But I will continue to voyage forth on my Paladin.   [moto]

Let me know if I can help in any way.  I am becoming an expert on the ins and outs of insurance issues and rebuilding bikes.   Embarrassed

Hey guys, thanks again for all the well wishes!! chug

I dropped the bike off at PJ’s on Saturday, I haven’t heard anything back from them yet but from a visual walk-around they asked me if I actually did crash it lol. I already got all of my replacement parts just waiting for PJ’s to give her a “ waytogo she’s good to go home.”

I'm not going to claim insurance on it since all the stuff I bought totaled is less then half of my deductible ($500) lol

My knee’s doing well the swellings almost gone, I have full range of movements back still a little stiff thou but overall I wouldn’t have wanted any other way.

I’ll keep you guys updated when PJ calls me back!

Cheers!! bacon
