Anyone know if you can purchase smoke or clear lenses for the stock turn signals/blinkers??  Have decided to keep the stock ones for now.  However, really want different lenses...

Thanks

PS: these would be for a 2006 S4R

Thanks for tip...went to clear alternatives website as the product you pointed me too was for an older style..

Good news is Clear Alternatives does sell Smoke and Clear replacement covers  waytogo Bad part is they are fairly expensive  Shocked  $30 a pair thought they would be maybe $15-$20 pair...oh well might have to just buy them, might get smoke tail light cover too while I'm at it... [moto]

Wow.  For that price why not go with some new smaller signals that come with a smoke lens?

Like these perhaps?

There are more choices on that site too. Look around. I'm sure you'll find something.

Started to think changing turn signals completely might be a better and cheaper way to go...smoke tail cover is expensive too...

Anyone have any aftermarket blinkers on their bikes...on the cheaper side, not looking to do Rizomas due to price...

FYI the lenses for 2005 and 2006 USED to be the same.  Sooooooooo some vendors are probably still selling the 2005 lenses as 2006.  According to Clear Alternatives Ducati did not change the part number for the 2006 lenses even though the lens was changed SLIGHTLY from the 2005.  Clear Alternatives got enough complaints to warrant fixing this by coming up with a updated lens for 2006 and that is probably why the 2006 lenses are more expensive then the 2005 ones if you get them directly from C/A.  So if you get the cheaper ones they are probably not going to be the updated lens with the perfect fit.  In other words they are probably the 2005 ones listed as 2006.  That being said I got a pair of the 2005 ones for my 2006 S2R and they are fine for me.  They will fit but you just kind of have to man handle them to get them in place.  If you ride in the rain then get the ones that are updated because the other ones might let water in.   Its very subtle but important enough for you to know before you make your purchase.  Double check with C/A or the vendor your getting the lenses from.

2006/07 model lenses are the same, I have the Smoke lenses on my 07 S2R 800 and they fit like OEM, no leaks or problems.

My only complaint is the plastic they mold the lenses from is a little soft, so be very gentle screwing the lenses in place as it is easy to tear the thread out, I secured mine with a drop of soft thread locker to ensure the screw would not work loose and I would lose the lenses.

The threads are not in the lenses and not the lenses fault. The threads are in the stock housings that the lenses are mounted to. That said, yes, still be careful and add some silicon to the threads to help retain the screws. I had only one that did not tighten properly when I changed mine...
