have about 4000 miles on the 696 now. Had the 600 mile service done a while ago and paid a tad over 160 for it.

300+ is outrageous. I would have done it myslef if they ever quoted me something like that.

DucShop here in Marietta charged me $135 for my 600 mile service on my 696.  I was quoted over $300 from two other shops.

You should name those other 2 shops. That goes against what DNA and Ducati SpA have put out...

What required 2 hours of labor? Really, what is different as far as the 600 mile service goes for a 1098R vs a base 1098?

$200 for my 600 mile service on a 696 at Ace Motorsports in Concord, CA.  Took 1 1/2 hours and they worked the entire time.  Worth it to me.

2 hours to change oil?

what a joke.

I can change the oil in my bike in about 20 minutes, and I am not even close to a mechanic.

Spectrum Ducati just did my 600m service, here's the break down:

Oil $63.96
Filter $15.99
Gasket $0.99
Labor $90.00
Env Disp $3.00
Tax $6.28
Total out the door $180.22

A bit high if you ask me, same thing on my truck was less than $100 but then again my truck isnt a Ducati.  [moto]

Happy with service and price, whole thing took about 90 min.

They suggest I come back at 3500 miles for an oil change, probably do that one myself.

Just did the 600 mile oil change myself on my S2R800.....cost me about 60 bucks. Brought it to the dealer for the rest of the 600 mile service-- they changed the brake fluid, did a computer diagnostic to make sure everything was working correctly, and did a general checkup on torques, etc. They also installed a set of handlebar risers for me all for $150. Grand total $210 including bar risers. $380 is a rip!

I feel for you there.  We are in the same boat in Hawaii, with only one dealership.  There are some shady folk there too; thank god Will (the Duc mechanic) is a good and honest guy.
