I had a buddy in college who did models to this level of detail, but he primarily did warbirds (mostly WWII).  He'd get photo-etched metal instrument panels, and aftermarket hardware kits (weapons, gun bay details, correct landing gear, engine details, etc).  He won a few awards for some of his, and had a few on display in air museums.

Anyway, the detail and quality of this 916 reminds me of Toby's work.  That requires lots more patience than I have... kudos Jason, that is one beautiful model of your bike!
