Ok, I admit i'm lazy and I do all that I can to make my life easier.

So I need input from you guys on this. I've got Arrow pipes with a race header on my S2R 800. I HATE having to take off the exhaust everytime I have to do a wheel change. Then I got to thinking, some guys on this site have fabbed little slip on pipes that tie into their udders.

There is a slip fit connection right before the S-Pipes on the arrow race headers. Can I just add a short stub off the existing race headers and convert them into some home made boomtubes?? From the looks of it they would be pretty easy to make. The only question I have is how I can get a baffles installed inside the stubs.

Perhaps Duck-Stew or one of our other fabricators could chime in

For those who cant visualize, I'll post a sketch of what I'm talking about later.

you probably wanna get some adapter or something since these are a bit bigger around that what you're arrows are.

last person i saw do this was monstermash.  he wasn't the first, but he probably did it the cleanese

So I checked it out. I dont want chromed tips. My idea is as follows

1) Make them shorter than that
2) Make them stainless to match the arrow pipe coloration

How to I accomplish this?

My BoomTubes are a bit different than what you are looking for via the above.

I made a few sets of these (see pic): stainless collars with a hand fabricated wrapped baffle that went down into the udder. (TIG brazed together)  It worked ok -- sound good.  But too much work and it still had the "udder" (looks and weight).  Last set of tips ended up on a SportClassic in the Bay area somewhere.

That was kinda what I was looking for but on the arrow race headers so the "udder" is already gone. Did you flare it for looks? How did you insert the baffle? is it bolted in or welded?
Not sure if brazing is the same as welding..only thing i've ever seen brazed was copper pipe..

yeah it doesn't have to go on the udder.

but as for the chrome, you can brush/sand all that off, or you can paint, power or ceramic coat them along with the rest of the pipe (which was my intention)

well, i found another mechanic he said he will do my car for $120, he said hes done it before to a car, but he said he broke only one bulb out of all of them, so i might have faith in him in handling my sexy beast. etsnet, unless if u can come nearby my house and do it for me and i pay u $50, or i will just let the guy do it for $120, im gonna try and haggle the price down from the guy too.thnx
