Nice choice in the colors!!  Grin  The swingarm stands out nicely.

I used galfer black lines with gold ends and bolts:  www.galferusa.com/html/new_lines.html

Yeah, those are the lines I think I'm going to go with. Could you send me pics of your master/reservoir assembly?

Brembo radial master cyl with large Rizoma reservoir.  Small reservoir on the clutch radial master.

This is a thread I don't mind reviving as it was popular.

S2daRK, how do you find the Showa adjustable rear shock over the stock Sachs?  Was it worth the effort and $$s?

I'm very happy with the Showa. If you can relocate the ignition coil yourself and find a used shock, I think it's the best bang for the buck shock upgrade for the S2R800. Match it with some adjustable forks up front, tune it to your riding style, and you'll have a bike that feels more stable at speed and in the corners.

Actually, I think if you decide to upgrade the suspension on the 800, you should do both the front and rear at the same time. If you decide to upgrade just the rear, you'll find the front is under matched, and vice-versa. The stock Marzocchis were too soft for me, the bike dove too much, even during normal braking - and I don't weigh that much - 160lbs.

It's good to see somebody do something awesome with an S2R800. That bike is schpankity! How did you black out the caliper mounts? And when polishing the swingarm, how did you deal with the super rough portion toward the engine pivot? Does Jason only anodize in gold or does he do other colors? Where did you score those gold sprocket cover bolts? The bike raises so many questions! You done good. Would love to see it again when you get the brake upgrades and the exhaust coated.

Thanks guys! I painted the fork bottoms with satin black engine enamel. Jason said it wasn't worth the effort to disassemble for powdercoating. I just made sure to prep it real good and it's holding up really well. While my forks were apart, Jason had them anodized by someone else. I'm pretty sure other colors are possible; give him a call. The rear sprocket bolts are from Lockhart Phillips. I didn't find an easy way to polish the swingarm; just a TON of hours blood and sweat.

I had a bunch of parts powdercoated/anodized at the same time to save money. Shops usually have a minimum for each lot.

...it's a coincidence this thread was revived because I was recently involved in a car accident (rear ended by a drunk driver). I fractured my wrist and I'm currently in physical therapy. Since I can't ride right now, what better time to do some mods. I'm taking apart the exhaust and will send the pipes to get ceramic coated. 4-pad calipers, radial masters, HID headlight, and new gauges are also on the agenda. I'll post pics as I complete each item.

Didn't know what color you were planning on for the pipes, but remember Jet-Hot can do gold ceramic. 999 integrated radial masters w/ shorty Pazzos?bacon And a quickchange sprocket carrier with those tab-keeper thingies to prevent a stray cush drive from backing out and ruining that nice gold ano'd swinger!

D0od you'll need BST wheels when you're done. Just can't stop lovin' your bike. It's my new desktop background.
