I would be interested in doing a group ride but i am a super newbie.  I have only had my bike since February and have only put on like 2000 miles so far.  I have never done a group ride so people would have to explain all the ins and outs and what not.  My vote would be for earlier Sunday or afternoon on Monday that's my vote.

Here's an idea:

Let's get an early start, and I don't mean the usual 10:00 am or 11:00 AM.  To me it seems that the mid-day traffic just starts to build up just as we're starting to roll.

Here is a crazy idea:  let's roll about 8:00 AM.  Heck, Dad used to get us up earlier than that to go fishin', right?

The benefit will be wide open vistas on the road with token traffic, and for once we get to the lunch time stop early, ahead of the crowds.

And here is the awesomest part:  meet for blueberry pancakes and bacon!! at 7:00 AM, fuel ourselves, then roll at 8:00 AM.

This is gonna be a big event, so let's do it up right, right?  waytogo  Blueberry pancakes = Elmers at Stark and I-205.

My $.02.

Hell yah!  The day's half over by 10AM!!!

I'm game for an early start and a man's breakfast to get us off . . . errrrrr . . . started.

JB,

Don't worry about your newb status.  We watch out for our own and that means you.  We got your back.

J bubble, since I can't ride right now, my gear needs to get used. I have an XS HJC helmet (that is still too big for me anyway...) and a Dainese jacket that is probably a small-medium. It's more of a fashion jacket so it's cut really short at the hips and doesn't zip into anything, but it's got armour and has survived one crash already with little more than some dirt streaks and a small hole in the elbow. I also have Sidi boots you can borrow if you can fit into them. (I'm a size 6.5)

Let me know if you wanna borrow any of that stuff, and you can also borrow the Ninja too but it doesn't have insurance on it at the moment, so you'd wanna make sure your insurance covers you on another bike.

F'in A thats a great idea guys, im all for the early start hell my kid has me up at 6:30am anyways on my days off.  So we stop at Motocorsa around 8:15 for anyone that is not meeting for pancakes?? Good idea, and a good plan for a ride.  Hey were going to have two girls on the ride...this should be awesome!

So anyone who is reading this....if you dont want to meet for pancakes meet us at motocorsa around 8:15am. Dont leave if were not there, hang out a while we usually get to motocorsa and wait about 15-20 minutes before leaving.

We're heading west, and there's probably some westsiders that don't want to ride to 205 and then head back west.  I'm not planning a long stop at MotoCorsa, just roll in and gather up any folks who are waiting.   waytogo

Hey C, thank you for the offer. SaltLick is gonna let me borrow his wife's small helmet and I'm gonna shove my boots, jacket, and armored pants into my luggage somehow. Oh, and I'm stealing Mother's bike.  waytogo

I really appreciate the offer, thank you so much.  Kiss

Captain Viktor,

How many billion miles from Portland and back is this ride?   Shocked

My buttocks are concerned . . .

including my knees, my backbone, my prostrate and balls
