You wankers! Sunday is a no-go for me... ah well. Have a great ride.
We'll have to get together another time so we can talk about how weird these NW people are and commiserate over the loss of Bojangles and real bbq...

Captain Viktor,
How many billion miles from Portland and back is this ride?
My buttocks are concerned . . .
including my knees, my backbone, my prostrate and balls
I second a possible buttocks revolt, and 2 out of 4 of the others, but you get the idea.. LOL I've done the Apiary Loop etc, and not too bad, and that WAS on the SR. So you should be able to hang JD!

I can do this loop with one fuel stop, provided I'm at full to start with.
The extra fuel stops are for those with thirsty bikes & small tanks.

We took this ride once, well close to it we went to Rainier, then once we hit 30 two of us went back on 30 all the way home.
The ride there takes about 2hrs from motocorsa going Victors route. Now thats without stopping for gas, or any troubles. Ill have to stop a few times cause of my clipons, and my oldness. So im figuring 2.5hrs there, and its only one hour back if you take I-5 the whole way, which i plan on doing cause after 3.5 hrs on my bike the way i got it setup thats about all i can do until i get some rearsets or some risers.
If you think about it that way, we could be at the observatory by 11:00am at the latest if we left at 8:15, stop for gas in Vernonia and stopped a few times to wait for people or what not. Heck you could be home by 1:00pm thats with hanging out at the observatory for an hour.....

I think I can join as well. I have a family dinner on Sunday... but I think I may be able to sneak a fun ride in.
I like the idea of starting early. As to the length of the ride... the seat on my bike is like a half an inch thick... if I can make it without complaints... you all can make it better.

I don't believe there are that many folk in this group that get the mileage we do
I have been getting a very consistent 48-52 MPG

Not that you asked me but I consistently get 42-58. I was getting over 60 on the Canada trip.

I only get about 40 mpg on my Rs.
Translates to about 105-110 miles per tank.

If I get really lucky.... I can make it to 90 miles before the gas light does the peepee dance.

When I was doing my 8 mile commute, it was 130 miles for the light.
Now that I live in the boonies, is 150 miles.
So 38 mpg
750 Carby.
