Professional Asshole and all around creepy guy.

« on: February 19, 2009, 08:26:31 PM »

Once again, we will be packing up and taking our Ducs to beautiful Ouray, Colorado for the 2009 Ducati in the Rockies.

What:  Ducati in the Rockies 2009
When: August 7-10
Where: Ouray, Colorado www.ouraycolorado.com
Why:  Because we can! (And it's great to meet, ride and party with other DMF members!)
Who: Anyone who wants to come!

As it says above, we will be heading to Ouray the second week in August.  Hotel information has been finalized and rooms can be booked immediately.

Hotel info:
Accommodations have been arranged at the Best Western Twin Peaks Lodge & Hot springs.  Price per night is $138.54 plus tax.  All rooms we have blocked off are double queen beds with mountain views.  The Best Western also puts their reservations on computer, versus the post it note reservation system we experienced in the past.  The hotel is also much closer to downtown Ouray, so the hike home after a night of adventuring will be a lot less brutal.

To get your discount, you must call the hotel directly and mention "Ducati in the Rockies".

Best Western Twin Peaks Lodge & Hot Springs
125 3rd Avenue,   Ouray, Colorado, 81427, US
Phone: 970/325-4427
Website

This will be my 3rd year heading out, and it's definitely worth it.  The roads around Ouray are a blast and the views are amazing.

There will be plenty of opportunities for riding with different groups going in every direction.  Make sure to bring your camera!  Of course there will be the Saturday night group BBQ and awards... Oh and cake too!

I have created a facebook group and website for information.

If you have any questions, feel free to pm me, hit me up on facebook, or use the contact us page on the website.

Thanks,
Wade

UPDATE 7/27

The hotel will be opening the Tiki Bar for us Friday evening at 4:00 pm (Two hours befor they open to the general public)

The BBQ is set for 7:00, Saturday evening. This will be buffet-style and consist of Burgers, Brats and Chicken Breasts, along with all the usual sides, non-alcohic bevs and desert - all for only $12.95/person. We will need to get an exact headcount for this Friday evening.

If there's anything I've left out, let me know!

Well, in a couple years when Im done with school and working again I hope this is still going on.  I've always wanted to see the Rockies and what better way then with a group that already knows their way around,

Just lastnight I was thinking about trying to pick up a second job, for extra money. Now this comes along, again.

I guess i know what i'm doing this weekend, filling out lots of job applications.

Glad to see it hasn't died with TOB.

Glad to see it hasn't died with TOB.

Our hopes are that it will be back to what it was the first couple years, and continues to grow and get even better!

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Hey..I just got back from the WPM that first year.  Hard to top riding in Italy.  I'll savor that one for a long time.

IF..I ever get a chance to go to Ouray..it'll be cool.  If not..oh well.    cheeky

Reverend:

Your too organized!  It's on my list of "go to" events; I'll conform closer to the date.

Those intrested in going form the NW feel free to contact; I'm considering riding and or trailering and could handle a couple of bikes in an enclosed 6X10 Trailer.

Ho and also ...

I saw a vintage Ducati rally that was very cool; how can you / we incorporate a show & shine of vintage / heritage Ducati's and you'll get more intrest with that.
