Most of the injuries were due to lack of the appropriate riding gear. None of the riders were wearing boots! Cowboy boots are for horses. Combat boots are for Iraq. Motorcycle boots are for motorcycles. It's just that simple! Leather protects your body. Shorts and tank top do not do a very good job when you are impacting with pavement. I had an accident on the street and I was in jeans. Speed of accident was maybe 15-20 mph. I got some road rash above my left knee that has scarred up and is still very noticeable to this day, over a year later. Today I lowsided my R6 in a turn going 50+ mph (stupidly ran it with shitty tires) in my full 1 piece kangaroo leather suit (Dainese Trickster), back protector with scapula protection, chest protector, Full Metal Pro gloves and Axial Pro In boots. I hopped up, spent the next hour fixing the bike, and continued to ride. I'm not sore, don't have a scratch on me (my person). GOOD GEAR WILL SAVE YOUR ASS. Title: Re: What Are You Wearing? Don't worry, I haven't changed my mindset. I do notice people do react sooner when I'm overtaking (in a good way). I don't have a good way to measure oncoming or cross traffic. Honestly, two other reasons I wear it. 1) it's like camouflage for the highway patrol around here. I don't really ride crazy fast or anything, but I don't even warrant a glance now when I go by them. 2) If anything ever does happen and the driver says "I didn't see him" I can legitimately ask "how could you not?" Post by: Privateer on May 17, 2015, 05:29:39 AM I’ve been wearing the same gloves for several years now and they’re starting to show their age. I stopped by the Yellow Devil Gear Exchange closing-sale and found some Cycleport gloves left over. The price was right and they fit pretty well so I scooped them up. I’d known about Motoport/Cycleport for a couple years, but only from their jackets. A couple of the local guys had gotten full suits and jackets from them and were very happy. I’m really picky about my gloves, but based on the price of these I felt OK giving them a shot. Now that I’ve worn them for a couple months it’s time to make some observations.

I had them line a pair of Japanese Selvedge Jeans for me about 5 years ago and they are still holding up great. Quality work. Highly recommended.
