I investigated foremost because I saw a thread on here about how they are working with Ducati to get lower rates. My progressive policy ran out this month and I am now with foremost because their policy simply cannot be matched. I am never happy to pay money to insurance [puke] but I think I got a decent deal.
I am 22 y.o in the NYC metro area on a monster s2r 800, clean driving record. I'm paying $650 for the monster with close to maximum coverage on everything, comp and collision, towing and $3500 in mod coverage, helmet and gear coverage...the works. That kind of quote is unheard of for this area at my age.
Prior to this I was paying about $1000/yr. with progressive with shitty coverage limits and a 1k deductible. So not only am I paying less and getting more coverage but foremost did that plus lowered my deductible to 500 bucks.
I am NOT affiliated with them in any way, just passing along the word to others because insurance is what kept me out of the bike game until I could afford it.
whats the address/town/state that your bike is insured in?
i am inside nyc, and i am 20years old, clean driving record they wante 3500 a year for full. and 800 for liability only.
i stuck with dairyland, 550 for liability.
wow $3500...wow, I guess because you are in BKLYN?!? That's ridiculous. Anyway, I'm in Hoboken, I guess living in jersey finally paid off???
I have Foremost and pay about 40 a month for full coverage...
Foremost doesn't write moto insurance in NH... :'(
I have them for my house and cars.
a month ago foremost told me something like $13,184 lol
I mean really?!
tried it again the other day and they said $1081 a year. I am going to shop some insurance next week.
Currently I am paying $1310 with progressive.

Same with Hawaii. GEICO is pretty much the cheapest company to go with down here.
I had Foremost for my old Suzuki, but when I got the Duc they wanted about 1,000 a year for liability. My agent with Farmers, who wrote my cars, life and home policy, said that I qualified for moto insurance through Farmers and I only pay $30.89 per month for FULL coverage.. I guess the multi-discount applies, MSF, clean driving record, no claims and over 25 or whatever age they consider dangerous. hope this helps the comp

Reread it - he has $3500 in modification coverage... the insurance is $650 a year.

Could you imagine? At $3500, the insurance company would be subsidizing a new bike every year.
I pay $160/yr for full coverage thru Foremost... 02 M750, 24 y/o, clean record, SC.
Cheaper than anything I found (Progressive wanted $800/yr for same coverage) and I've been happy w/ their service so far. Remind me never to move to NY... :o
I've got GEICO in NC, $72/year for liability only on my '99 M750 w/ 30,000+ miles.
JM
Sorry to bump an insurance posting, but I thought I'd let you guys know I was quoted $1200.00 a yr. by Foremost which is $300.00 more than my current insurer AAA [roll] Needless to say I was a bit disappointed and will keep shopping around.

State Farm insurance...
$250 for the year, includes medical (few hundred thousand), $250 deductibles, full coverage. Granted, I'm 29 and have car insurance with them. Still from what I have found State Farm is pretty cheap for motorcycles... homes they are not.
I also have foremost and am happy with them. Full coverage, 1k deductible, 20 years old, $167 a year. Far better than any other company that quoted me. Why is it so different on who has better rates between states?

State Farm is great insurance, but they will only write you a moto policy if you have car insurance with them. :-\
I tried to insure my 1st ride with them, but they would not insure me, even though I had renter's and life insurance with them; I have no car to insure.
I'm amazed at the difference in quotes. I'm 36, no tickets, no accidents, had my license for 20 years and have the M1 endorsement and MSF training. My skyhigh quote from Foremost really shocked me. I called Geico this a.m. and they quoted me $500.00 for full coverage for the year. That sounds a lot more doable, but I'm going to keep on checking around. You young bucks w/ the $300.00 quotes are baffling me, I need a quote like that. I don't live in a metro area which would seem to make it inherently less expensive to insure than you guys in the bigger cities, but I don't know. I guess the insurance companies have their variables to go off and they quote what they feel is right for them. I'll keep on hunting around.

I think that the key here may be to have multiple policy discounts. ... have all your insurance needs with one provider.. and you will probably get a good discount.
