Title: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: weemonster on October 12, 2008, 04:29:19 AM I don't mean commercial breaks they are useful i mean when they show you a few episodes of a new season then have a break for summer or winter or whatever. Then its not on because of holidays or football games or elections or other unimportant stuff ;D This year they have the writers strike as an excuse for more or longer interuptions. Battlestar Galactica is having a 9 month break between part 1 of season 4 and part 2 of season 4. Its a TV show not a child ffs. Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: superjohn on October 12, 2008, 07:04:36 AM Yeah, it's pretty annoying. Even worse is when they constantly bounce the show's schedule so you can't figure out what time it's on, then they cancel citing low rating.
I've given up on network TV. Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: He Man on October 12, 2008, 07:58:19 AM Theres only 5 reliable channels on TV right now that i try my best to watch (but often unable due to me not having a tv)
ESPN and MSG and NBC and FOX and CBS ESPN for monday night football NBC for sunday night football FOX and CBS for Sunday afternoon football and Saturday afternoon hockey MSG for Rangers hockey night. Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: Scottish on October 12, 2008, 09:34:44 AM I can tell you that the networks have lost a lot of my interest over the writers strike. They were in the process of developing stronger line ups with decent shows. Then they stopped everything and reality tv took over. Now I don't watch half as much tv.... thanks writers guild for giving me back my life. BTW everytime a union goes on strike they lose me as a customer, I still don't watch Hockey, and I loved it... apparently I'm not the only one. It just seems there would be better ways to bargain than to kill the goose that is laying the golden eggs. Nobody wins that way. [roll] But that seems to be the union way.

[popcorn] only 3 more months to go... i'll probably finish off the motogp and f1 seasons, then go snowboarding. Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: FatguyRacer on October 12, 2008, 05:11:56 PM What will the Geeks do with all their spare time. [popcorn] I'm watching the new stuff on Discovery Channel. I'm ok with the wait for BSG. It's the wait for new stuff on Adult Swim that bothers me more. Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: lauramonster on October 12, 2008, 06:41:02 PM Engineering an Empire
Modern Marvels Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Mega Movers Holmes on Homes (get your mind out of the gutter - he fixes homes that contractors make the beast with two backsed up) (and that other show that features really huge projects like the bridge in Charleston, the tallest skyscraper, the airport in the Orient that they had to truck in dirt to make the damn island!) these shows are cool!! Networks must think we're morons. They replay previews of their shows over and over, til you HAVE to change the channel. Yeah, I know they're drumming it into our heads - but more than twice an hour is insulting our intelligence. Same goes for the smae commercials over and over. (Unfortunately we can blame the high ratings of Jerry Springer and such for teaching the networks just how 'dumbed down' we want our programs.) Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: He Man on October 12, 2008, 07:45:22 PM You know the the show sci-q or something liek that on sundays? The dude that hosts it is a professor at my school. Its werid seeing a tv star in person!
Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: supakpow2 on October 13, 2008, 12:49:16 AM I really hate the stupid ads that they put on the screen while you're watching a movie or television show now. [bang]
as if they don't have enough commercials anyways. Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Its werid seeing a tv star in person! I get what your saying! Seeing Peter Weller (Robo-cop) on some of the shows about ancient Roman history on past History Channel shows is pretty cool. They list him as a professor at Syracuse Univeristy (I think its Syracuse) Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: wbeck257 on October 13, 2008, 06:39:31 AM I don't think I've sat down to watch a TV show in a year.
I'll watch sports -- but I don't schedule my day around it. If anything, I'll make sure I can hear it on the radio. Other than that, I just read a book, surf the interwebs, or play with the cats while the girlfriend watches TV. Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: kopfjäger on October 13, 2008, 09:03:48 AM or play with the cats while the girlfriend watches TV. ??? Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: Slag on October 13, 2008, 10:46:02 AM The 12 episode seasons during the writers strike annoyed me. I hate tv, but have gotten into Dexter.

Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: wbeck257 on October 13, 2008, 11:10:45 AM ??? If the GF is watching TV, and I can't find anything else to do, I'll play with my pet cats (kittens), Rasputin and Hamilton. I'd rather watch them run in circles after their tail, or a laser pointer than most of the shit on the t.v. Perv... Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Its werid seeing a tv star in person! michio kaku i love that show. it makes me think i'm smarter than i really am, and not because it shows people doing dumb shit to be on TV. Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: Le Pirate on October 13, 2008, 12:36:45 PM I just started to get into Eureka on Sci-fi...caught the second half of the last season and started watching all the time this season....until they started their mid-season break? wtf? if you have the shows in the can....show them!
Title: Re: Tv shows " breaks" does it annoy anyone else? Post by: MendoDave on October 13, 2008, 01:31:53 PM BSG has been a big dissapointment.

They'll be there or can be rented when I get done with my fun stuff in real life. one month, nine years...whatever. I'd love to write a series of books like Harry Potter and just say no, I'm not finishing it. Just to make the beast with two backs with people. They're fake people. It doesn't matter.
