We did another club track day at Jennings this past weekend. It was sponsored by one of our local dealers. So this cat borrowed his buddies Desmosedici. Now this guy that was riding was there for the first time, no let me rephrase that, his first time ever on a track. He knew he had the fastest bike at the track and had issues with people on Monster 600's passing him. So he thought all of a sudden he's going to be Stoner. Well this is the end result.

That poor bike :-X I like the final pic with him 10 feet away from the bike, pointed the other direction.
Would have loved to see a viral of him getting passed by the Monsters [laugh]
He is trying to hide. ;D
please tell me all pointed and laughed at him. dumbassed people
actually i would have laughed at his idiot friend that let him borrow it.
Guy who wrecked it=d!ck!!
Guy who let him borrow it=dumbazz
Poor bike! The original owner didn't deserve it!
LOVE that last shot! The guy on the fastest bike will be owned every time by the rider with the most skill. Just like the Pirelli ads: "Power is nothing without control"
*whimper*
JM
Oh man, serious bummer. I can't believe the guy did that to that poor, beautiful motorcycle. [bang]
"Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it."
Based on past experiences in this part of the world, I have a plethora of comments I could make, but I will hold back. :-X

Is he wearing rain pants? He isn't even dressed right to be a Ducati Poser.

I let Viktor ride my 848 once... but I have ridden with him for years and trust his riding. Never would a first time track rider touch any of my bikes. Yikes.
Think I would have reported it stolen...
I had this witty reply all ready to go but when I went to type it this is all that would come out...

is he doing on a race track

Mother - It looks like he is wearing gear.
well the story goes something like this.
There was a chick that was in the same group who had a dozen or so track days under her belt. She kept passing him through the turns but in the straights, well the sedici would eat her alive, as expected. In one of the turns she out braked him and he went too hot into the turn didn't realize for that bike turning at that speed is like cruzing, so he went straight and hit her. Her being a more experienced rider kept it upright, went off track, manged to recover and went back out, he stuffed the front wheel and crashed.
Now the recent story is she ran him off the track and there was talk he is planing on suing the track and her. which is stupid because you sign a waiver when you sign up.
And I just got confirmation, there is no insurance on the bike.
How can someone that can afford that bike, afford to be dumb about coverage?
Poor, poor D16. :'(
signing a waiver doesn't mean he won't sue and cause people some legal fees in defending.
That would suck. Hopefully some riding attorneys will volunteer to help her out and hand him his ass.
If that's actually the case he should be shamed into acting like a grownup too. Yay interwebs.
make the beast with two backs the shaming
if he ran into her
and
is such a make the beast with two backsing coward he has to sue her to try and save face
he should be dragged out back and kicked right in the dick
His name isn't andrew is it?
Didn't some racer dude once say, "Rubbing is racing" ?? How can you sue for that? You got bumped and you wrecked it... get over it. People are stupid. Visolara (Mo) is the only racer I have ever seen who was involved in a crash and then felt so bad about it that he loaned his bike to the other rider for the day. But he is way too nice.
If you can not handle the consequences of dropping it on the track... then don't track it. Crikeys.

actually the CDC control rider is an attorney, he's the one feeding me the info. I think he's just acting like that so he has someone else to blame to his "buddy"

It's like taking your gennie 427 Cobra vintage racing and throwing a tantrum when it gets a rock chip. Or gets a fender caved in.
FAIL!!!
God damn it. I'm fairly sure I could at least keep a D16 on 2 wheels and this dick gets to go crash one?
There is no justice.

You apparantly have the wrong friends.
Although the desmos loaned to friends may dwindle in number soon.
And I cringe at the thought of my buddy using his Bayliss for a track bike....
I guess I'm over it now.
The guy's pants look like textile. I thought all tracks required full leathers. ???
I feel sorry for the lady he clipped. (I'm choosing to believe that he botched the turn and clipped her instead of her running him off the road.)
It boggles the mind how dumb some people can be... Expensive toys w/o insurance and expensive toys lent to incompetent people... ??? I treat my friends like family, sometimes better, but I still won't let them play with my expensive toys.
dammit, I can't believe I forgot to tell you guys, some guy also wrecked a brand new 1098R. It had a few hundred miles it. I'll see if someone has pics. This happened the session after the sedici incident.
it was an expensive weekend for sure.

I find it amusing that a $72,000 bike comes and goes from the track on a $500 trailer.
Nick, how was the guy on the other sedici?

...and at $500...
you're giving it a lot of credit.
Let me get this straight:
-first track day.
-someone is crazy enough to lend a first time track person a d16
-not only does he dump it but he nearly takes down another rider
-the bikes not insured
-it's transported on a $100 trailer with a $9 wheel chock (I wouldn't let that bike on that trailer!)
This is to hard to belive! Is this one of those internet stories that gets expanded everytime it reaches another board? (that's what I'm going to tell myself because anything else would be too upsetting. I'll also ignore all those pictures.)

that was the track pickup trailer, it went into an an enclosed trailer to go to the dealer. Not nearly as cool as the CDC trailer I might ad. They didn't have a Jager and an espresso machine in theirs. I'm just sayin.
I'm not kidding

it never went on the track after that incident, can't really blame the guy.
I'm still searching for pics of the 1098R that was wrecked but no one took pics, the sedici trumped the wreck of the day, month, year, I don't think many will top that for a looooong time.

sorry I really searched everywhere for a damn pic of the 1098R, the guy is lucky none took pics, or didn't post em.
If anyone is interested we as a club had an awesome track day. There were about 30 of us and one was the control rider, so we pretty much had any group or session we wanted. I rebuilt this SS from the ground up and had the best lap time since I've been going to that track. I love that bike. They bumped me to the next class. But if you want to see our 2 days of shenanigans check out the thread.

And a big thanks to CDC guys for helping me with repairs on my buddy's WR! Didn't get much riding in Saturday but at least with their help I was able to ride all Sunday! Saturday was an expensive day for sure. Worse part about the 1098R was the guy brought his GSXR to track and wasn't going to take the R out, but after a session on the Suzuki, he couldn't resist!
:'(
and I was supposed to be there this weekend. I could have witnessed the shenanigans firsthand.

it's a jager bomb glass, bottom is Red Bull, top is Jager. gotta pour real slowly so they stay separate. Goes down smooth, you get wasted but don't get tired. it's a win win.
ah.... so I want the glasses but not the contents. ;D (neither jager nor redbull do it for me).
Lots of other drinks would work well though.

Did you read the thread? She over 10 track days, the guy on the D16 didn't. She was out corning him all over the place but he would pass her in the straights. Then she out braked him, he get's flustered and runs into her.
