Gotta revive this one. Nothing new to add yet. It's on in 2. See ya in an hour, I'm out pregnant doges... be::
edit: commercial break spell check...
It's on when I say it's on! DVR's rule.
Good call TT- I need to hear from the fanatics what everything means when it happens on B.G. I missed most of seasons 1-3; pick them up in re-broadcast bit by bit.
Tonight's episode in a nutshell...
Standoffs-R-Us
Gaeta's got a gimp leg.
Roslin's got a new 'do, but still rockin the eyebrows. Takes a short paddle on the River Styx.
6's and 8's out crusin' on a friday night, pickin' up hitchhickers. Your baseship r belong to us.
Razor reference alert: Starbuck will bring you all to your end.
And don't evar drown a 6. She will pwn your ass.

If you haven't seen much of the first 3 seasons, you've missed a whole helluva lot. I highly recommend renting and watching them all. I did a few weeks ago. I'd be lost otherwise. And watch Razor too. Not super vital, but there were some references there tonight. Mostly the scene w/ the Hybrid and Starbuck.

You mean Starbuck gets it on in a Prius? Doh! That would be on Southpark not B.G.
I've seen about 50% (I think) having caught re-runs and some current episodes. Freakin' cooking shows and Sesame Street are constantly giving me the 'Your disk is full' message though so I have to puzzle a lot of it out from other sources. wt:
Soooooo......how 'bout last night's episode???
My thoughts:
What the Frack? I'm all confused with where they are going with the show now. Who is the fifth? I"m assuming there is NO ONE left on Earth. I'm thinking we all killed ourselves.
Dianna just pisses me off. And that Indian girl. She SUCKS! It has nothing to do with her being a Cylon. The others didn't turn into complete pricks after finding out.
I think Adama makes a better president than Roslyn. He seems to have a more level head and is less reactionary.
How many more episodes are there?

this was the last episode of the first half of he final season. should be 8 more episodes to air in early 2009.
keep an eye out for some additional webisodes between now and the '09 broadcasts. there are also rumors of some feature length movies that may see the light of day to fill in some other stories like razor.
oh OK, I thought this was going to be the final episode. That would have sucked big time (I was already wondering if I'd missed something on 'who is the 5th').

Months before its final 10 episodes begin airing in January, we now know for certain that "Battlestar Galactica" will live on -- in the form of a two-hour special on the Sci Fi Channel to air in 2009 after the series concludes.
...now with prequel:

A prequel series? Hmmm...
Could be cool, looks like we gotta wait till 2010 to see 'em.
My wife will be happy to hear that there will be more to come from the far side of the universe. I'll tell her in the morning.
Me, Im pysched for the last eps comming in January.
Not sure if I'm ready for this...
hard to believe it's been 5 years since the mini series aired...
well, here we go....
final 10 episodes starting tonight.
make the beast with two backs me...
Starbuck's a cylon.
I called that one. My wife will be so mad!
D'Oh!
Didnt see that one comming.
OK. I'm my amending my previous post.
I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around Ellen being the final one. There's gotta be more to it than that.
My other wild-ass guess is that in the end, they discover that they're all cylons.

My guess is that she'll come back allied with Cavil when the hard liner Cyclons catch up with the fleet. That Ron Moore really is a genius.
I missed it last nite so I was so glad to see that SciFi had it up online.
Wo is all I've got to say. So much info to digest!
I just finished watching it and so far I'm confused.

yeah, but how confused were you
before you watched the episode? ;D
Ron Moore confirms that Ellen is indeed the final cylon. It's a pretty good interview. About 4-5 other people interviewed too... pretty lengthy.

I legitimately thought I knew what was going on, but whole planet of cylons, but there's only 13 types, but there were more than 13 types of people on the planet, and centurians.........
I'm still confused.

There could have been other cylon models that were destroyed on Earth 2000 years ago. Maybe the 13 were the only models that survived? Just a thought.
So what the hell happened last week? I was drunk off my ass by the time it was on and totally missed it.
(With any luck tonight won't be a repeat of last week....but it might.) [drink]
They gotta move it to a different night....

with only a handful of episodes left in the series, i doubt they'll accommodate ya.
you can watch what you missed here, though:

Yeah, I know. :P
Dunno about watching them online either, take too long to load. :P :P
I think PC guy was in this episode...

thought that guy looked familiar... [laugh]
I'm still confused about Starbuck though. Cylon or not a cylon?
I had been thinkin' that she was. Then not. Now that she might be again.
This show better not have a lame-o ending.....

Didn't some show in the 80s end with it being all a dream or something? That would suck giant donkey balls.

I think it was 'St. Elsewhere' that turned out to be the dreams of a psychotic patient or something.
BSG is either going to end up being thought provoking and good, or it's just going to be complete dreck.
I have to admit, I'm still on the fence as to whether I like this last season or not.
Seems like they're wrapping it up a bit fast.
So, the human type cylons were built by humans that developed robots that eventually caused an apocalypse on their new world. So they traveled back to warn humans that the same thing would happen to them, only to find it was too late. So they allied themselves with the robots in order to build humanoid robots to...
Wha?

Wha?
humans created the "metal" cylons.
the "final five" were researchers working on re-inventing resurrection
the metal cylons turned on the humans that created them, resulting in the destruction of earth.
when the earth was destroyed, the final five were resurrected to a ship they had in earth orbit.
they then set out for the other 12 colonies to warn them that the cylons would turn against them.
they lacked the technology for faster-than-light travel, so they didn't arrive in time to head off a human-cylon war.
in order to stop the war, the final five and the metal cylons agreed to a truce. the final five then created seven (or eight) humanoid cylons that combined the cylon belief in a single god with human traits like compassion.
the first humanoid cylon, cavil, didn't care for that programming (nor his humanoid body) and "boxed" the final five, erasing their memories and sending them off to live with the humans.
I need a flow chart. [bang]
